MEG Energy Corp

I worked at MEG Energy for their spring maintenance turnaround. It was a great site, easy to get around. Good facilities with excellent food and lunch varieties. 
The work was not labor intensive and was a little laid backed with an emphasize on safety. 
We had a good team on nights with most of the work occurring on nights. The MEG representatives were very helpful and down to earth with respect to the work involved.
 The only draw back was the rooms. I am not keen on sharing washrooms and this was a nuisance.
Other than that I enjoyed working there and would go back for further shutdown work.

A typical day at work very busy, 3 jobs combined into one.
what I learned is how much was involved in Operations and related departments.
Management was very busy and rarely available for time sensitive decisions, therefore, decisions were made in their absence.
Workplace culture was very supportive of celebrations when a job was well done by a department or division. Lunches and employee gatherings were catered regularly.
The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the volume, short staffed. Often times experienced a lack of communication.
Most enjoyable part of the job was the camaraderie with fellow employees.

Loved this job, Loved the environment, the culture,  the people, the after work activities. MEG Energy was a wonderful place to work at. Was treated with respect and mentored to achieve our best  work goals. Would work for them again in a heartbeat

I worked briefly for MEG as a Construction Coordinator at the beginning of 2020. 
Due to the oil slump and Covid, all projects were shelved.

Would work for MEG again given the opportunity.
Team members/Coworkers were knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. 

I would work at MEG Energy anytime, absolutely loved working there.. Great working environment with a caring team of co-workers and management.

This is a great company to work for as they work hard and play harder. They are going through some growing pains currently as they move to become a bigger player in the oil & gas SAGD market. 

I really enjoy working at Meg Energy. The people are great and the atmosphere is positive. The camp is really nice and the landing strip is right on site which is a bonus, cuts down on the bus time travelling to the airport compared to other sites.

A small but great company to work for. The environment was productive and collaborative. Process is focused and efficient. It exemplifies how the SAGD process should be applied to recover the vast oil sands resources in Alberta.

This was a great company to work for but with the turn of the oil most jobs suffered and I was one who was effected.  Really enjoyed working with the people.
