METIS CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES

Metis Child & Family Services is a very professional place to work for. My mother has also worked with them over the last 15 years. Children from all walks of life have come in and out of our homes and they've provided us with an amazing support system. These support workers have guided us and have been very involved in all aspects of the children's lives that have been placed in our care. They have provided the training to help us and the children in our home thrive in all fronts. I am very proud and very happy to have worked for this company.

My typical day at home with the kids consists of changing their diapers, making them dinner, and watching a cartoon with them on occasion. I read to them so they can sleep well and send them to bed at around 7pm. I learned what it can mean to look after children so I can develop the skills to become a good parent.

We offered referral services such as addiction services, parenting workshops, mental health services, etc to families and their children, in order that the children remain in the family home.

Long days and is tough to see the children in care and the difficulty it is to see so many children in care. Management is very demanding and it makes it difficult to accomplish everything required.

The teams at Metis Child and Family Services are eager to meet the needs of clients. With excellent advocacy and support from their workers, clients receive the help they need.

The Angency invest in their workers by providing the opportunity  to learn new skills. It's a wonderful place to work  with diverse people of different culture .

I did my first year practicum here, i loved the environment and the staff were so nice and helpful. I learned a lot from the other workers here and i would work for them now that i am qualified.

I love working with people.  I love helping people.  
The hardest part of the job was feeling that I couldn't help someone.
The greatest part was when I did help and the families were happy and together.

No job security, hostile work environment, unfair distribution of workloads. You feel below everyone and are talked down to even though you are more than capable at the position.

i cannot in good conscience review this as i was not in a paid position, i was only doing a practicum which was required for school. I enjoyed my tim there.
