A typical day at the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care included delivering internal mail, opening external mail, answering and directing phone calls, courier and filing. Doctor's billing and Northern Health Travel Grant applications were entered for remittance. Stock room work and purging outdated files were also part of the regular tasks. 
Management at the Ministry of Health and Long Term care was excellent at delegating tasks to employees, and gave reviews for performance regularly to ensure smooth operations. 
The coworkers at the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care had a team spirit and worked together to problem solve issues.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the  temporary placement agencies variable wage scale.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the variety of tasks and upgrading that was available for different computer programs, and the wonderful staff.

Absolutely loved the job itself.  I found the work environment to be very toxic.  Almost like being back in high school.  Very cliquey.  Gossip mill in full swing.  Very hostile.  I had people who I had never met before refuse to sit with me while training.  Refuse to answer questions for me while training.  Sleep when they were supposed to be training me so essentially leaving me on my own.  Then when s#!t hit the fan, blame me.  I didn't go to management.  That was my choice.  I knew what kind of can of worms I would be opening and I just didn't have the energy or desire to go down that road.  Also because at least one of the managers was a part of all this behaviour.  Some very bitter people who are in serious need of a break.

Sarcastic supervisors and co-workers. Hands down the worst workplace culture and environment. Most difficult part of the job was the staff and a number of floor supervisors.
The working conditions are awful with broken, stained chairs, carpeting and equipment. Lighting is kept on 24/7 which is unheard of in any other 911 communications centre.
Training is a mess with countless trainers all insisting their way of doing things is the correct way. Inconsistent training. Many sarcastic and condescending trainers. 
Most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with the callers, crews, fire and police.

	Effectively coordinate the day to day activities of the office of the Director, including calendar management, providing research for resource material and compiling and distributing meeting materials. 
	Reviews calendar with the Director, to highlight complicated scheduling conflicts, urgent meetings and potential gaps. 
	Provide administrative support to the Director, three Senior Managers and three Health Board Registrars.
	Experience working in a project driven work environment
	Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in a multi-tasking, high pressure and fast pace environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is not a good place to work….pay is low, bad morale and the office location is in a dangerous area of the city. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Workload is heavy with no overtime allowed but expectations are high 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Political, high stress, non supportive 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always changing your schedule and location of work, travelling constantly, must drive to the office to write reports you can do from home.

There are a LOT of people who misuse 911 and call an ambulance unnecessarily but you can let that go when you go home at the end of your shift knowing you contributed to saving numerous lives every single time you go to work. 

Pretty good place to work, highly competitive environment.lots to learn from different folks around.

Coworkers are good and available to help you if you are stuck. sometime it is hard to manage work and family life balance but overall it is a pretty decent place to work.

This is not a place for new people to the job market to go. Get industry experience first then come here. It is not terribly challenging, very prescriptive work and “outside the box” thinking and suggestions are not encouraged. 

Inexperienced management makes this a very unstable and stressful environment.  Pay is not in line with other employers.  Less than the sector.  They promote and have policies about supporting employees to provide tools they need to do job but this isn’t practiced.  Very negative environment 

My job as a tester was very structured. I was assigned small (1-2 days) tasks by my manager. I was required to register all my steps. Tasks were always clearly stated, and a lot of help was always available. This was very good as a first job experience to get an idea of how software development works outside the classroom.
