I enjoy working here, my coworkers are all lovely people, and I look forward to coming to work. Patrons can be a little rude at times, but that is out of my control usually. covid and lane space has made a few public swimmers frustrated, which is understandable. Just know that they will usually take it out on lifeguards, even though we’re not in charge of the schedule. You need to have thick skin and to not take these things personally if in a customer service role. Management is super supportive and caring. I do think that people in the aquatics department should be paid more though. Other pools in the city pay their shift leaders and lifeguards over $20 an hour, whereas starting wage for lifeguards at this facility is $17/hr. 

Repsol is a great place to work as it is flexible with its hours, it provides and environment of growth and support and it gave experience i would never have imagined. I work mostly with children teaching them how to swim and about water safety which I feel is a very important role in anyone's life especially being around water. A typical day is pretty normal, getting classes of children in different levels, and teaching the skills they need for their age and level. I learned a lot about teaching swimming and talking to parents, gaining costumer service, not too much but well enough. Everyone is highly respectful and accepting, team work is a big aspect in Repsol, helping each other out and supporting each other through thick and thin. Helping other when needed and stepping up to fill in roles when needed. I enjoy seeing my students become more confident in the water and being aware of the hazards, but still having fun.

Repsol is a continuation to grow and learn new things. We work on everything from changing out a flush valve, tear down pumps and put back together to running boilers and maintaining the building. 

I enjoy the people I work with and interaction with all departments. I believe that is very important!

The hardest part about my job is making sure the pools are kept clean as I have no control over that. If there is a contamination in the water, we are there immediately to make sure they are safe for everyone. 

The part I enjoy about my job is you never know what will happen from one day to the next. Makes each day interesting.

Horrible managers. No diversity at all. Management is all white people, and the majority of staff is as well. Low organization and there is a definite feeling of “I’m better than you” from management. I worked as a summer camp instructor and let me say, organization….non existent. Salary is also terrible for the amount of work they make you do. I was hired as a full timer and was told I’d get 40 hours a week all summer long, but halfway through started being told “we don’t need you this week”. Especially if you are younger or a student, you will be treated like a child. Overall horrible place to work, horrible management.

a typical day of work for me is and early morning shift, with the swim clubs in the morning followed by public space mid morning to early afternoon, the workplace is a fun and safe environment to be apart of and we are all like a family. The hardest part of the job would probably be the quick turnovers that we have to deal with on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. the most enjoyable part of the job would probably be how fast paced it is.

In my role I got to work with all departments and get to know almost everyone. Some of the best people I've ever worked with. The culture at MNP is everyone helps out where it's needed regardless of your role. There's quarterly events, free gym pass, free food after events every once in a while. You'll make lifelong friends there. Truly one of the best places I've worked.

I have ben working here for 4 years now as a lifeguard. This place becomes your family, and you develop great relationships. The aquatics department is very fast paced but extremely enjoyable. You get to learn about different sports. You can work your way up in the facility if you show your work ethic, and determination.

The Repsol Is an absolutely awesome place to work. The people, co-workers and management are all awesome. A day at the Repsol is usually fast paced due to it being a sports facility however the stress level is low and everyone together makes working fun and enjoyable. I recommend working here if you can get the chance!

Sense of "same team" camaraderie among fellow employees, systems/procedures/policies in place to remove guesswork from everyday tasks, a fun workplace culture that promotes staff events (such as Christmas parties, stampede breakfasts, even a movie day)

Great gym, pool, benefits, and flexible schedule. It's a shame how they are ruled by a pack of grade twelve cougars. Lack critical thinking skills. Many of the instructors are awesome, unfortunately a few bad apples run the place.
