The horrifically low pay doesn't help the fact that the long time journeymen at this company are so lazy they will literally stand around smoking allday doing nothing except standing around talking and smoking at least every half an hour and not helping on the job at all. They get apprentices to do all the work and are extremely rude and will only criticize acting like teaching apprentices which is part of their job is just a burden and chore. The quality of their and their apprentices work is very poor as it is all rushed with no quality or care.

High turnover rate of employees (whole new crew every 5/6 months)

Poorly managed job sites 

Never enough employees for the scope of work

Cheap 

No company events. All work, all the time

Average pay. $1 an hour raise per year if you’re lucky 

English not a first language for most employees. Makes communication difficult

No bonuses, Christmas parties etc.

Sites are flooded with 1st and 2nd year apprentices. Foreman is expected to run the job sites and do the majority of the work.

Lots of employees calling in sick, showing up late, no-showing to work.


It was an okay workplace  & alot of individuals were very kind to me starting out , I had no problem with anything until I got laid off. Which I understand is a part of the business but I didnt get no heads up on lay offs coming & some times the work place could be a little unprofessional which how they conveyed. But great experience wish them the best.

I was offered a position while being interviewed.  I was given time to analyze the safety manual.  The CEO personally drove me to the job site in Edmonton and got me set up in their company house.
The Christmas party was fantastic.
It was sad to leave but the two jobs I was managing QA at had ended.  
I would go back in a heartbeat for less salary.

MPN has provided lots of opportunities for me to gain new skills and experience. The teams work really hard and try to create a great team environment. The Journeyman do offer to the apprentices. The pay is and benefits are very competitive.

The job sites are a mess.

They never have enough people to get the work done.

This company is the cheapest I've ever seen.

The sites are full of new apprentices, and the foreman has to do everything.

So many people are calling out sick, showing up late, or not showing up at all.

The work  culture in the company is not good. Foreman doesn't know how things work in the field and what's the realistic  time to do the job. No team work, they always put you under the hammer, on top of that they don't know how to treat people in the company . Overall,  Cheap company management.

There wasn't a day where I went to work and didn't have fun. This is a great place to work as well as gain experience, almost all the people there are very helpful and knowledgable.

Under the foreman I learned a lot about tilt-up commercial construction and he took the time to guide me through. It was an easy going yet hard working environment 

Worst electrical company I've worked for. 
The management is the worst I've ever experienced. Working at the fish factory was better than working here.
