Good place to work lots of time off they do not pay overtime they compensate with time off and good benefits. Overall a good atmosphere if your in your mid twenties lots of social activities. Made me appreciate the fact that I am in good health I really enjoyed the human factor of the jobs. Being responsible for verifying all donations entered into the database on a daily basis and during major fundraising was the core of the position. Manage the fundraising support team,  coordinate volunteers during fundraisers, mass mailings, customer service, contact person in Quebec for any problems, or inquiries about donations or the databases malfunctions, create tickets, responsible for promotional inventory, coordinate with event managing companies during major fundraising e.g. hotel reservation, seating arrangement and so on.        Lots of information and things to learn in a small amount of time. Good place to work when you graduate and need to gain experience in a non-profit.   Very big turnover among employees.

Working with the multiple sclerosis society was incredibly fulfilling, and I couldn't have asked for better coworkers or bosses! 

You get a list of clients that you coordinate with weekly to meet, and it's up to you to make sure they get time with you. MS Society will pay for all your travel expenses in between clients of course. You'll find that you build strong connections with these people throughout the summer. 

Another facet of the job is organizing events for the clients, consisting of tea parties, indoor picnics, dinner parties. You will get guidance from management staff but this is a great opportunity to explore event organization and acquire new skills.

For me, I learned a lot about myself and also about the world we live in. A lot of people have disabilities that prohibit them from doing many of the things able-bodied people might do every day, and you shouldn't take for granted what you do have. The people I met who have been diagnosed with MS live fulfilling lives full of laughter, and they all taught me quite a bit about embracing life's challenges.

The London office of the MS Society quite differs from the head office in Toronto. The London office is laid back and a quite relaxed wrok environment.
There's a positive aire in the office and we are all passionate for the cause we work for. This drives our success in our roles.

Hardest part of the job, is trying to create work/life balance. Working in this environment often you are required to work late or on event weekends, work 16+ hour days.

The most enjoyable part is managing my wonderful team. The staff is dedicated and motivated which makes it a great place to lead.

1. Entering data of multiple donations and donor information was a typical day.
2. I learned that accuracy is everything,
3. Management staff were supremely skilled at making sure that the work of the data entry clerks were accurate and that the environment remained friendly.
4. Co-workers were enthusiastic and sincere.
5. Hardest part of the job was staying enabled.
6. The most enjoyable part of the job was simply working down-town.

I really enjoyed working at MS Society. The work was sometimes tough and involved long hours but my colleagues and management were so supportive and motivating. And there's a focus on working smart and using the technology available to make your job easier. As an organization, they are continuously trying to improve themselves as an employer, for example, they are transparent with their salary structure. If you want to build a career this is the place to be!

I began working at the MS Society immediately following university. The work environment offered a great combination of independence and structure which allowed me to grow personally and within the organization throughout my time there.

Probably a common theme with charities. The chapters that I worked with were fantastic, but management made some key errors in funding and organization that they are never reprimanded for. Keep up the good work, chapters!

Not a good place to work once you see how the organization is run. Local chapter does a lot of great things for its members by offering programs and providing equipment to those who show needed and are diagnosed with MS

I have learned about how to run a Bingo sessions, do paper work related to bingo tickets price and sales, customer services, team work, friendship, and I really enjoy volunteering at MS society.

Flexible hours while volunteering . Everybody is so warm and cooperative. Very motivating environment for a new comer like me. Everybody has been so supportive. I could not have asked for a better experience.
