Working here can be enjoyable with the right people. But if you want a job where your boss/team leader micromanages you, and are incompetent of your hard work, this is the perfect place for you! Management does little to nothing on improving the work culture and it really shows. Just read some of the other reviews for this company. It's to a point where my colleagues actually get things done and work better when certain team leaders are away and not walking around harassing people.

there are 3 locations at MTU. The ARC building is managed by this guy who served with the US military and is running the show as if he is the commander of the building. No respect for the employees at all. There were 3 people during my time who went on stress leave and that is because the management is not concerned about the well being of the employees. i will not recommenced to anyone to work here under the current management and its style of managing people.

This workplace has a lot of growth potential. Unfortunately all the opportunities are only provided to German nationals. This company would rather pay to have students or staff from the German locations than to promote the local staff. 

Lots of Health and Safety issues often go ignored because it doesn’t affect management staff only floor employees.

If there was another MRO of this scale in BC I’m sure 90% of the workforce would leave.

The onboarding process is atrocious. HR is lackluster and disorganized. Team leaders are often incompetent of the work we do. The company panders to German citizens over Canadian citizens. Promotions and raises are only given to unionized employees through collective bargaining and the management personnel just promote themselves. If you are unionized like I was, its not a bad deal. If you are salary, find another company.

This is a brutal company to work for, particularly if you are female. Management is clueless and doesn't care. If you disagree with the men, you are marked for dismissal but they'll keep you around to harass you and stress you before that. The union is useless.  Steer clear and pick another industry to work in because aviation trades pay much less comparatively for much more stress.

Overall good working environment in the company, 
Management is working towards making the culture more inclusive and collaborative.
Pay is also fine, learning on the job is one of the elements making me stay in my role. 
Growth opportunities are limited after a certain level as shuffling is very often.

Too many people slacking. not even doing the bare minimum.  management confused on how to make the company more efficient.  Union is good for job security, but also keeps bad employees that game the system from getting fired. which creates a culture of just be better than the worst guy.

MTU is very supportive to staff specifically the HR. It’s a unionized company so salaries are ok though I feel not enough according to the inflation rate. Overall it’s a nice and employee friendly place.

Technical work with interesting product. Information is disorganized and mostly contradictory, constant change, unstable processes. Nothing ever goes right.

Only seem to promote Germans horrible work environment since new management took over. The Pay is good so many people feel trapped but this company is not what it used to be and boy does it show... management does not give a f about its workers.
