Now if you’re looking to get into machining as a career I wouldn’t recommend this place to work long term. This place would be good to get your foot in the door for the machining or welding industry.

However the communication in this company is horrible which leads to mistakes in every department that it has. The morale there sucks, seems like everyone is very bitter from day to day.  Harassment is a big issue there as well I’ve had people questioning my self regarding an injury that I had and still recovering from I was called a name from someone there because they thought I was pretending to be hurt and also was told I was full of it because I didn’t want to work in a certain area and was told that by a supervisor there.  The one thing I also didn’t like was the fact that I would get yelled at for asking questions on how to do a particular job.

The thing I hate the most working there is that the place is not a positive working environment they don’t encourage you to do better . They only talk to you if you made a mistake plus they don’t tell you that you do a good job everyday.

Regarding management and I’m not naming anyone in particular but one individual there to whom I spoke to didn’t care at all about the issues I was having that was affecting my performance. All this individual cared about was making money and getting the parts out the door.

Good Company, casual atmosphere, good coworkers.

No formal training, have to learn on the job when Supervisors have time to go over procedures. Leads to issues of accountability, and lack of oversight on sometimes costly decisions. Don't expect performance reviews.

Job keeps you busy, 8 hour days no weekend work. Be prepared to work on projects with multiple departments. Fast-paced, with a variety of things to work on. I work from a desk mostly, with occasional walks to different departments or the shop.

Too many issues that stem from the informal way certain departments are set up.

A typical day at Mac-Weld is fast-paced, working hard at processing orders and often multi-tasking for other departments when necessary. There is a lot of cross-training at Mac-weld, you can expect to work your main job but also be required to be trained in other areas. I personally enjoyed that aspect as it was interesting to learn new things and expand my skill set. Even so, co-workers are amazing at collaborating and sharing the workload. It is definitely a team-driven environment which is great. There are many perks to working for this company - good benefits and Happy Fridays are great! Free pizza lunches once a month and the owner has even had the ice cream truck stop by for employees in the summer :) (pre-covid). 

Speaking of my own experience at Mac-Weld......It is a well-respected suppler/manufacturer in our industry.  The quality of the work is generally excellent.  Management gives one the tools and support to do their job effectively.  Communication is generally excellent.

I have been employed here for a number of years now. Started in the shop and moved into the office years later. I enjoy working here and feel respected and part of the work family.
Of course the pay is not as high as everyone would like but there are some perks that I never had at previous jobs.
Benefits, pizza days, gift cards, bbq's and pre-covid- Xmas parties.
Best place I've ever worked!!

good job security, good work environment, and good co-workers always learning. Growing company, good management. Everyone treated fairly and with respect. would recommend working here.

I enjoy working here. great group of people and the company cares about you. we even get monthly awards when others notice when we're doing extra. OT after 40 and DT on Sundays and after 50. 

Mac-Weld is a great place to work. They pay decent, have good benefits, company pension, employee recognition and safety appreciation awards and company BBQs and other extra bonuses.

the work is very steady with strong team leaders 
there are skills I learned here from great teachers
its not always easy work and sometimes  the work can seem never ending 

Work in fast paced environment with several responsibilities.  Enjoy multitasking and meeting deadlines.  Able to learn new tasks and give input on improvements.  Enjoy being part of a hard working team.
