Unprofessional management who look down on you. A typical day at work consists of you standing around at the front, VERY dead store so you're alone with your thoughts for 8 hours, managers making snide comments at you or venting their stress on you, managers yell at employees (extremely unprofessional and should not be accepted!).  You're forced to hang people's personal belongings (without asking the customer first) which causes the customer to think you're rude for touching their things. You're also forced to attend to a client and everyone watches the client which makes them extremely uncomfortable! If you're not talking to a client just trying to browse or obviously does not want to be bothered with, you're glared at by management because you're not trying to 'sell' aka persistently trying to make a client uncomfortable. Radios are used to communicate with stock people and they're also used to be berated by other coworkers. Extremely unprofessional catty workplace. 

This might only apply to the location I work at, but the management is absolutely horrible. There is no communication, and a total lack of respect for the employees. Now, of course, this is pertaining only one or two people I work with, but I have to say, if the company is hiring people with a complete disregard of morals and ethics, then there is a huge issue at the upper management level. I don't mind if my coworkers are a little less competent, but being a good person should be the basic requirement. The job is insanely easy, with minimal requirements, so it shouldn't be difficult to find a good person. Some of my coworkers are also genuinely great, but the bad ones make it a truly horrible experience. If not for the convenience of job location, and a horrible job market, I would work somewhere else. But alas, we all need to survive. If you can, do not work here.

It was such a great experience working at Mackage (Vancouver location). Proper training is provided once you start working. The management team is helpful, supportive and understanding. Collaboration among the team is always encouraged by the managers. Valuable and insightful feedbacks are provided to help you grow and learn as a brand ambassador. Highly recommend this location if you are interested in fashion and would like to develop your skill sets in sales! 

Overall, working at Mackage was a unpleasant experience. I worked at the Yorkdale location and found the environment to be very Childish and High School behaviour. There was lots of unnecessary stress and drama and a lot of Micro Management with Supervisors, Assistant store manager and Store Manager. They dont treat employees fairly and have favouritsm. Regional Manager came by very frequently causing store to always feel pressured, stressed out and uncomfortable. They have  17 year old as a assistant store manager.

-Can be an enjoyable place to work if you get along with your co-workers
-Good place to make money in the winter time as there is high traffic
-Lots of standing around doing nothing in slow seasons
-Workplace culture can be toxic at times, depends on managers/associates mood
-Upper management can be very unreasonable

No clear definition of role. manager seems constantly confused and quite frankly oblivious to everything happening around her. insane turnover with employees, no grip on the store as it is a free for all, supervisors and manager ignore protocol and expect the associates to follow them which seems hypocritical.

by far the worst place i worked at. the management team is condescending and lacks respect, belittles you constantly, the workplace environment is like a clique , shift allocation are heavily biased aka the management team would take the weekend off,  overall unpleasant and stressful. 

I felt valued and appreciated as an employee, and the team I worked with was always supportive and encouraging. The job was challenging but rewarding, and I was given plenty of opportunities to develop my skills. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would strongly recommend the job to anyone looking for a rewarding career.

Friendly and very supportive team.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It can be a bit stressful because of limited support and quite close supervision.

My job was to give every single customer a warm service and customer care. Helping people find their perfect coat was so much fun! I learnt so much there and I'm forever thankful for the opportunity that was given to me even though I had no retail experience back then.
