A typical day at work consisted of working with customers, assisting customers with any help needed and answering their questions.  Also, recovering the whole store making it look presentable and making sure it was a safety hazard free environment. While working at Macy's, I learned how to work well with the public, providing customers with outstanding service. I also established solid communication skills, allowing me to get along with everyone. Management at Macy's is great. They are very helpful and informative. Working with my co-workers at Macy's was a great experience. They were all hard workers and team players. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with people, socializing, and being able to help others by assisting them with my help.

I did enjoy working for Macy's because of the position I was in, the co-workers I met, and the flexibility I had. I did see how a lot of people were burned out, but that's retail. You generally do a lot and can be pulled in several directions especially if you work on the sales floor because of the expectations and goals that needed to be met. However, in my position, I was considered an expert, no one could really tell me how to do my job and came to me often for information which gave me more flexibility and less expectations from others because my own expectations of myself were higher than theirs.

I would help in helping the customer find what they want.
Always be near the regester in order to check out the customer,clean fitting room(s) when able to,straighten up the clothing
that was out on the floor.As well as having a friendly smile.
And when to count the cash draws.
The management team was very friendly as well as the co-workers.
The hardest part of the job -there was none.
The most enjoyable was helping the customers with finding what they were looking for and ringing them up at the register.

- The Executive Development Program was kind of a big lie. They fed you a dream that in 5-7 years you'd be a store manager. Anyone who has worked there knows this is a total joke.

- you really just had to play the game and get in tight with store managers to get promoted
- have to fold clothes and ring people up when people call out 


Coming in at 7am, doing our floors pick and pulls from what customers online bought, we search and pick the items; going and doing our receipts (our new items that came in). Putting those out on our best of knowledge. All co-workers are into working as a team as well as I. Hardest part of the job is not having enough time to finish your projects, but still trying your hardest. Enjoyable part of the job is working with customers and helping them with anything they need.

Camaraderie, they treat you like a family with all respect.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When it's busy and we had a long line during Christmas season

Diverse, up beat and energetic feeling 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy on a weekend and holidays but relax on a weekday

In all honesty, the Macy's where I work isn't a bad place. The managers and leads do their job accordingly, and even though there are people with bad attitudes everywhere, Macy's employees seem to be a pretty cool lot overall. Also, the systems are set up really well to view your shifts, who's working with you that week, your clock ins and outs, and your paycheck for next week.

Working from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Receiving goods, stocking shelves, collaborating with other workers to perform the task of keeping the incoming stock off of the docks and into the store.
Working with the trucks was the hardest part of the job.  The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the coworkers.

Used to have great brands, clothes are changing, lower quality. Human resources not as knowledgeable about fashion. 
Yelling human resources person. 
Great staff on the floors, older persons are working the cash registers, dressing rooms, beauty departments. Needs to open another store north of Seattle, WA. 

Leadership is lacking commitment to executive mentoring and career growth. Focus is on metrics only with no balance on building a culture of engagement. Micromanagement at all levels does not allow for leaders to grow and thrive.
