MANAGEMENT WILL TREAT YOU LIKE GARBAGE. 

One manager went as far to say that she did not care about her employees, all she cares about is numbers. They view their staff as replaceable and will talk to you like you are dirt. They call us the "smile team" but everyone is miserable due to the mistreatment and disrespect from the managers. 

There are ZERO benefits for working for Magic Memories. The only benefit is the free attractions you have access to across Ontario, and that is thanks to the CN Tower, NOT Magic Memories. 

They put huge amounts of pressure on you to sell photos and will be extremely rude to you when you do not make them money through no fault of your own (which is funny from a zero hour contract job on minimum wage)...

The commission programme they have is useless. The targets are unachievable and you can only get commission if they are under their weekly labour target WHICH MEANS YOU GET NO HOURS AND WILL BE CUT SHORT ON THE SHIFTS THEY ACTUALLY PROVIDE YOU. 

The only good thing about working here is your coworkers and frontline team members who all deserve better treatment. 

I wouldn't want my worst enemy working here. This company does not even deserve 1 star.

It's easy to learn to do the job and depending time of the day, it could be boring or overwhelming to handle. Typically in the slow season, there's a lot of time to kill but you would also get asked to leave early, which can be good or upsetting: good as in you can have time to do other things, bad as in you won't work enough hours to pay bills. Summer is the busy season therefore you would face a lot of people and talk until your voice is gone (no, seriously. My work place is a tourism attraction establishment) Water is very much important to keep you going throughout the day. 
Also, my management was very strict about work availability and not very flexible with day offs, especially when you're responsible for finding someone to take/swap a shift if you happen to get scheduled. Therefore, Management will not help you find someone to cover. 
Pay is minimum wage and no breaks other than lunch would be allowed, so if you're someone who needs those regular 15min breaks, you're not going to have that there. 
Overall, this is a type of work that has minimal supervision and easy to learn on the job.

As everyone has said about this job, IT IS TERRIBLE. There's a new manager, she's from the corporate and she came here from Australia to make some changes, and let's just say ever since she got here it's been a HOT MESS. We all have been trying to get her fired but the HR is useless, they don't care about us. The only good thing about this job are the coworkers. Also, the managers will disrespect to any extend they want so please don't hesitate to talk back. They also cut yours hours too especially when it's slow at the tower. The new manager cuts people when labour is too high & yet she hires more people to work... lol makes no sense. The whole management team has an IQ of -100, a 10 yr old kid can run this place better than these managers.

I worked with magic memories at the CN Tower location. THE MANAGEMENT IS TERRIBLE. The only reason why I stayed there for over a year was 'cause of the coworkers. Working with them made work more bearable. You have to stand for 8 hours straight at one spot, take photos, greet people, oh and don't forget to smile. 

1. The management is terrible - they will disrespect you to any level they can. If you don't stand up for yourself, trust me they will walk over you. 
2. Make sure you know your rights.
3. If any of the managers disrespects you, going to the HR at the CN Tower WON'T take any actions since the HR is US based NOT Canadian based.

I have full availability and they cut it to 10hrs a week, which is ridiculous. I cant even pay my bills with that and management doesnt care. Favourism is prevalent and if they dont like you, less hours, in consistent hours and they write you down for everything. Management is terrible, the HR headquarters doesnt do squat. I filed a claim to them and all I got was “thank you for letting us know, we will get back to you asap” THAT WAS MONTHS AGO, and nothing changed. This company is built on numbers and profit and becuz its min wage, they dont care if u quit cuz ure so easily  replaceable, thats why employee benefits, and health and safety are kept at the bare minimum. “If you’re not happy then quit” is basically their motto.

Magic memories is such an easy job to do, its a simple task, either your assigned to take pictures for CN Tower guests, or on the sales floor calling guests over to come see there picture in hopes that they will purchase a photo package. However, there are more cons than pros working for Magic Memories. You are constantly pressured to make sales  from management without any commission. You are not respected by management and also treated like trash. Lots of the employee's leave the company every week, hence why they are always hiring and is now out of business. If you need a quick summer job then this would work because they give you lots of hours, but if you are thinking to stay over a year, it may not work.

No acknowledgement is given to staff for their hard work. Supervisors expect us to make $500 in sales per hour while we work for minimum wage, with no incentives or commission. Staff are not allowed to chat amongst ourselves, not allowed to stand still for more than a minute without being called out. Equipment is so dated systems crash on a daily basis making everyone’s job unnecessarily more difficult. 
I’m not surprised this business is going down, there’s very little practicality, common sense or positive environment. Absolutely no room for advancement.

The only good thing about this site are the co-workers! 
Everybody is nice except for the management.


One of them treat you like you are always wrong, she talks to you in a rude way and makes you feell very uncomftable and miserable while working with her. 

After 1 week working here I felt  I wanted to leave! Most of the co-worker hate this environtment  with the management.

They don't train you properly.
The salary is very poor for the amounts of pressure you have.

Better if you don't apply for this site!

A typical day at work consisted of dealing with tourists coming in and out of the tower taking their photos. As a sales photographer there, I learned quite a bit on how to deal with irritable customers and dealing with rejection. Coworkers were open and welcoming as well as friendly. The hardest part about the job was finding new ways to excite people about their photos, however, I thoroughly enjoyed taking their photos and selling it to them afterwards.

The job itself is very simple, take the guest's photo and if you worked at the 360 restaurant station you brought up the photos to their table, but you also kind of had to interrupt their meal. But like i said the job itself is very simple great summer job, the only problem with the job was the management team, 90% of them I don't know how they got hired in the first place.
