Right from day one I knew this company had no regard for it's workers. They will hire you and keep you waiting for months on end to start work. Once your working you could be laid off at any given time.. there is no job security. The wage is terrible, the bonus is a big lie - infact they have taken back overpayment of bonus out of regular wages (illegal!!) the drills are in terrible shape and leave oil,grease, and fuel all over drill sites, then you get written up for it! There is a huge turnover rate, they will hire drug addicts over paying proper wages. The devoted do get the short end of the stick that is for sure, iv seen it, try to fix an issue and you will have it pinned on you. The workplace morale is absolutely horrendous. The company vehicles are not in road-worthy condition yet are expected to be there for emergency e-vac purposes from worksites. There is no reason why anyone should work here, I wish i didn't have to put any stars.. so heed my warning about this company.

WORSE COMPANY EVER TO WORK FOR .They don't care for the guys, they lie all the time, you can never get a straight answer. My hrs that I work are always wrong so constantly fighting for the hrs I worked , then you get paid but only straight time when it should be overtime.They don't pay travelling and the benefit s -might as well not get any because they are super expensive and when you need some days off from the doctors they deny you because it isnt covered. ANYONE GOES AND WORKS FOR THEM DON'T. Go to Tim Horton's you will make more money.TRUE STORY and working 8 months out of the year you have a hard time making 80000. If your looking for bonus look elsewhere - $20.00 a day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great people. Excellent support for field personnel. Great benefits. Steady work they do a great job with hotels enroute to and from work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no stressful part. Maybe at worst delayed flights if you’re flying into the northern part of Canada. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent culture and work attitude. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As a supervisor have your lineup with the personnel going to work. Work out any issiues with the previous shift. Make sure everyone has their direction and focus for the day. Encourage and support mentor any new personnel. Make sure everyone has all the PPE required for the work. Support the men and women in the field!!!

Hires Drillers without having availability for drills and puts helping at a low wage. Reason because they can't afford their contracts and use turn over rate to fill seats at training wages. Will ask if you can quickly do something "unsafe" before end of shift but then take your bonus for a month for something that happened or a tag missing from 6 weeks ago. So enjoy being lied to to start, find out your wage is not what was discussed, don't worry about learning names they won't be there long enough, and warning in advance they will charge your flight off wages not from bonus they take that first, expect that before your second wage increase which is still an industry low. The only Benefit is you collect good amount of Air Miles on 2x2. 

A typical day at work consist of a 12 hour day, a physically damanding day where your goal is to keep the drill running and drilling out as much core as possible with out damaging equipment. I have learned how to set up and what you have to do to get drilling. the management where great to work for and understanding. My co-workers changed all the time but they were good people from all over Canada. The hardest part of the job was being away from home for 3 to 6 weeks at a time. the most enjoyable part was the money and seeing different parts of Canada I would not of seen before.

A typical day at work always starts with a well planned execution of challenges.
As we all know in the industry that there are more than one way to do things which allows you the freedom to learn at every aspect of your daily routine.
A calm and professional set of management individuals at the helm to assist and guide their every project challenges.
I would have to say that the hardest part of the job is when the mining industry and various market rates drop, employment becomes difficult to attain. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is travelling and meeting new people thru out the global industry.

As a driller assistant the drillers in Red Lake do not treat you as part of their team. It's like they tale bets to see how quickly they can get their helper to quit by purposely make the job harder. The supervisors just say "I had an assistant killer too when I first started" and the official job description actually says you have to put up with an antagoonistic workplace. They don't readily give people the full job description. The company also doesn't care about safety. Their SWPs are just for head office to feel good and show share holders. In the end the company just cares about meters produced by any means.

overall the best thing about working for the company was the guys i worked with .Had 2 really good shift bosses but upper management and HR department needed alot of work.All though we are advancing with new equipment and ideas management was still stuck in the 50's  using fear tactics and yelling like we were children. The guys were great and moral was alright but even after seven years felt like just a number.The wage that they paid was the same as it was in 1980.

They make the job sound so good before you accept the job. Get there and the equipment is in terrible condition, which is a big problem when you are getting paid per meter drilled. When not drilling there is an hourly wage but they dont pay overtime. Apparently because you get paid per meter but when none of the drills run the whole time you're there you get paid straight time only. Safety culture is also terrible. Saw some very sketchy and even illegal things happen while I was there for a short amount of time. I would never work for this company again.

Typically a 10 foot section of core would be extracted with wire line approximately every hour.  My day would consist of switching inner tubes and emptying core from the extracted tube.  Although I had some freedom between drill runs it was my job to keep the drill area and supply pump clean and well maintained.  I would also operate a robotic rod manipulator to extract and stack the drill rods in 30 foot sections during bit changes.
