A typical Day would be Shift work, we were required to arrive early and load our programs. Generally we used about 6 programs for different Claims, and also we had a online manual for any questions that may arise. 

Once a Week I would have a meeting with my Supervisor to review my progress and assess if there were any areas that needed to be improved on.

My Co-workers were excellent, my desk was next to someone who had worked there for 10 years and he was very helpful when I needed help on complicated Claims and likewise I would do the same for him.

The most enjoyable part of my Job was the Environment, it was a comfortable environment and very friendly people to work with.

One of the hardest parts of my Job occurred after my car accident and I was unable to sit for long periods if time, however with intensive care on my neck and shoulders I am able to return to work.

When I first started I was trained on their IWS system through in house course module training.

I learned a lot more about MPI.

Management was wonderful, always factual in their constructive critsisms if required. They were never mean or derogatory.

Co-workers were great, always ready to listen to questions and answer them promtly. It was quite a team environment.

The hardest part of the job was leaving it when my term came to an end, otherwise I had not one complaint.

Most enjoyable part of the job was that you were given the job to do, explained what it entaled, with always somebody there to go to for questions or problems.

I dealt with the public dealing on a one to basis with serious injuries which caused serious disruption in peoples lives and their family situations and dynamics.  The work was challenging but I learned to deal with most any type of situation.  I had to be empathetic of their situation but had to deal with the situation in a professional manner and help them out as best I could with in the limits of their coverage and the companies mandate.  

The hardest part of the job was dealing with child fatalities or very serious child injuries.  You dealt with people for long periods of time 
and you got to know the families.

The best part of the job was seeing how well people recovered.

MPIC staff was great and |I still remain friend with some of them.

The work life balance and the benefits are absolutely amazing.  

But if you are looking for an easy going, same day everyday kind of job where you can just go on auto pilot this is definitely not the company for you.  Their amazing benefits and work life balance is also a reflection of the kind of work you need to be willing to put in.  

You start as part time and add skills to your "skill bucket" yearly and it is unionized once you pass probation.  You are offered to go up in hrs worked as positions become available. 



I really enjoyed the location I worked at, and the people I worked with.  The pay was good, with a first raise within the first 3 months.  The supervisors/managers were always so kind and only wanting the best for you and to see you go far (even though they also wanted to keep you around).  The advancement didn't work for me because you cannot get another job internally until you've been there for at least 6 months.
The hardest part of the job was the customer service, you have to have tough skin to work at the front because you will have to deal with people who aren't nice to you, and are not happy to be there.

I worked here for 5+ years, doing a very specific job within the corporation. My manager was great at first bit I did not realize I was being groomed to be complacent. Growth is extremely hard unless you work here for years on end. Once my job became a permanent entity within the company, I had to "beat out" my competitors for it. I ended up losing my job to someone who had only been there for 6 months longer than I had. Worst of all, I had to train this replacement to take my job leaving me to go back into a position that was almost half my wage. 

Stardard get employess in and test the heck out of them while their on review, no chance to move up unless they really like you! Challenging work, but sending out letters in regards to their unfortunate accident isn't pleasant work! I wanted to work my way up in their computer network! My Dad needed my full attention so I was torn mentally when trying to work myself into a better career!

The Coworkers were the the best part of the job, they were all very helpful and the environment was not at all clique-y. The hardest part of the job was working in the call centre, it became very apparent that the it is first and foremost a company, and as such would prefer that you make them money before helping the customers.  It is also extremely hard to get out of the call centre after you've taken a position there, as the turn over rate is very high, they make it difficult to move up and out of the call centre.

The hiring process has many gaps and drop promises.  If someone didn't get the job, have the courtesy to let them know they didn't get it even said they will let you know either way. Why leave them hanging?  Especially after all the talk about having integrity.  Very young leader without any experience is the problem and doesn't care.   But a crown corp so they treat people the way they want without any accountability.  No one knows otherwise so its all good.

It's a solid job with a prescribed career path. Training leaves a lot to be desired. You need a degree but then also have to get CPI designation which doesn't make sense to me, especially since public insurance barely even overlaps with how private insurance operates.

The employees are diverse and it's clear there is no discrimination in the hiring process. I hope they've fixed the training process since I worked there because otherwise it's a great place to work!
