Long hot hours some days
You are not always garenteed work if it is raining


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment and culture are all individually different. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Up at 4. To work at 6am coffee and or energy drink. 
Walk and drop or move pylons into the right pattern for the work being done that day.
Flag for traffic come or going.
Stop or slow traffic for safety purposes. 
Or walk a long side the paver
Or flag vehicles away from any danger.

Good pay and good learning experience, but that's all there is to this company. The only people to advance seem to be the friends and families of the management. One dozer operator there can't even operate without GPS, but God forbid you put a qualified employee in a machine over management's friends. 

You'll also notice they stick all the minorities on the asphalt/milling division, which they so lovingly refer to as "the dark side"

Start off by doing pre trips on our equipment. Get a plan for the task at hand, get proper amount of base delivered to job site to start leveling base to proper grade. Learned how to use most of the equipment on site, how to judge the pitches and slopes in the parking lots we would work on. Management was fair with guys, especially on warm days with liquid and breaks. Great work atmosphere, great bunch of hard working individuals. Eyeing up grades and judging swales for lots was a difficult adjustment. Learning and being able to work with good people makes the day go by great.

Hours were inconsitent and all over the place making it difficult to schedule time for regular life, meals, or other commitments. Many times you wouldn't know your start or end times till the day of. 

Organization was all over the place in terms of scheduling and assigning tasks. 

Expressed interest in learning, was told there would be alot of opportunities, but was never given the chance to. 

Alot of office politics involved.

Job description given during interviewing was more comprehensive than in actuality. 

No real team structure.

When working for this company I was required to operate equipment with NO FORMAL training. I was also required to maintain the equipment I was personally operating. The equipment I was given to operate was previously, not properly maintained and caused issues with safe operation.  The company also had NO employee communication as to where and when the employees would be working.  A very indecisive company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people are horrible people.  Gossip ànd jealousy are the main issues at this company

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Quality of knowledge from foreman is low.
Pay is low . If you don't brown nose you won't be successful 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible.  The people in charge have a very limited experience base . Training is bad

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Exhausting.  No support.  Attitude is very prevalent

work varied depending on season and location.  Everthing from oil changes to safeties to specialty repairs.  I learned essentially everything i know plus my schooling.  Management: unorganized and  slow.  co workers were hit or miss, some full of energy and great to be around.  Some seemed to have no will to live.  hardest part was dealing with the foreman repeating himself over and over and over for no reason.  most enjoyable part was working by myself.

Was involved in sales and marketing projects to find new supplies, suppliers, and markets for parts distribution
Contacted outside vendors or manufacturers in an attempt to find the best price for quantity purchased.
Gained a lot of experience and knowledge of various vehicle parts and product.
I believe some improvement can be achieved by modifying the policy on how product is stocked, distributed and monitored

Great boss.  Good income.  Long days but they go by quick!                                                      
I have worked there for 9 years and really enjoy my job for the most part.  I do the traffic control and safety.  Responsible for the placement, maintenance and removal of warning, guidance and information signs.  Ensuring proper traffic control devices are placed on roadways to protect workers, pedestrians and motorists.

The work environment is very friendly where everyone is treated as family. I was encouraged to learn and grow in my abilities while in a challenging and rewarding work environment. I learned:
-AutoCAD Civil3D
-Drainage design
-GPS machine control
-Various survey techniques (Manual and GPS)
-Reading and interpreting blueprints

The company is very enjoyable to work for.
