Everything was new when i joined with Marche restaurant. I was new in Canada and it was my first work experience with Marche restaurant. So i was learning about my job in my first couple of weeks. I have worked in different shifts like open, mid and closing. So i have learned about to set up everything before restaurant open and how to make our guest happy from they come till leave. Also make some more business from up-selling and it is a part of customer service. The management is from Switzerland and managers are always helpful for their staff members. At Marche restaurant, about 150 people are working in different category like kitchen, bakery grill, service.....etc. All are helpful to each others.I will be so happy and satisfied whenever our customer give any kind of appreciation in words, tips,

Marche Overall just needs to get an audit check because I believe they are not following the rights regulations to their co-workers.

Back when I was working there more than one stated that they got their hours cut from their paycheck despite the fact they worked those hours.

Management itself was not the best especially the top two managers there. You mentally felt abused based on their disrespect towards you.

Co works were fun to work with and the benefits were really good, but the pay was so low compared to other restaurants. 
I'd say unless your desperate, don't work there because you'll find the work is not worth the pay, and the stress is so not worth it, you can get injured like i did working there.

Work days can get very stressful with the lack of communication between management & staff. The Company needs to invest in its employees. The practice of hiring management with experience rather than promoting employees with no experience. Work ethics of employees is very difficult and strongly supported by the Union and the Ethnic Groups. The hardest part of working here is the lack of care and sense of urgency from management & employee towards the customers & clientele.

• Handled incoming guests & extensive waiting list, supporting servers, bussing, cocktailing, food running & crafting wine list
• Assisted with special events, staff training and private dining venues.
• Responsible for purchasing & cost control of liquor for restaurant
• Filled out requisitions to replace any shortage of stock
• Supervised and assigned odd jobs to personnel
• Held weekly departmental meetings to inform staff of any outstanding Bar issues
• Feedback on projection results, and informed staff about monthly promotions
• Set operational protocol for Marche Bar

It is a well unionize enterprise with good customer service, which provides employees with benefit like dental care and medical treatment plans after probational period.

They prepare everything, even noodles and bread.

I started working there 2 months after I gave birth to my child and they gave me the possibility to express breast milk and even scheduled my 1 hour break according to my needs.

By far worst place i have ever worked in. From downright mean managers to an overwhelming mouse/cockroach infestation. Management expect you to live and breathe only for Marche,union operated but in reality nothing but minimum wage and long hours. Not to mention a good daily does of verbal abuse as management struggle to keep this fat bloated carcass open for business.

a typical day at work consists of constantly checking for any items that are under stocked and then re-stocking said item(s). Also cleaning,re-stocking, packing, and labeling the fruits and vegetables was a regularity. I often helped the cashier with bagging purchased goods.

I love the people that I work with. With the time most of them they became my friends. It's relaxed and management appreciates the hard work. Hours can be long but with a lot of work time just flys by. I enjoy communicating with our regural costumers who are constantly coming on the days I am working.

I am a good team player always am working hardly and friendly and i always care about for customer and team satisfaction 
i do  all my best to increase the revenue 
am strangely work to create always something new

The company is very nice place..with a good and nutritious food..good ambiance..the worker is always smiling..always entertain the guest with warm welcome..friendly and helping company..
