Maritime Pressure Works (MPW) promotes a positive work life balance and a competitive salary. 

The hardest part of working for MPW is the communication. Managers are of all age and technical literacy varies. MPW needs to enforce a common communication medium so information is not lost. This struggle then effects the trades people.

The most enjoyable part of the job are the people. I've learned a lot from coworkers about boiler systems and mechanical trades such as pipe fitting, welding, millwright and power engineering.

A typical day at work could involve you being expected to work in some kind of hazardous condition for extended hours and without breaks. The owners of this company have zero respect for anyone's personal or family life except there own. Expect to be forced to travel to the most hazardous worksites in Atlantic Canada and the minute you refuse you'll be looking for another job. The money is OK, but when you factor in what you have to do to earn it it is not worth it. 

A day where I get to build something new and see the finished product and become a better more efficient fitter.
Management should treat you like your one of the team and respect you opinions and depend on your skills.
the work place should be like a diversified home where everyone gets along and communicates well.
The hardest part of the day is rapping you head around figuring out a build also the most enjoyable.( Figuring it out).

Terrible management and company to work for. Most of the guys are good to work with. Good place to learn your trade and good stepping stone. Not a good place for a long term career. Alot of overtime if you don't mind working alot. But they do not care about their workers.

It was fun but i cant actually say much because I didn’t actually work here, i did what was basically an internship program, learned welding and how to use power tools. Was definitely fun.

Good pay and other soft perks, too. They recognize and reward hard work and commitment, which is not common today.  Good group to work with and exciting projects. 

Very few companies of this size have owners that know everyone’s name.  If all companies were run like these guys do there would be no unions. Excellent opportunity for young trades people willing to work and learn. 

Overall I enjoyed working with Maritime Pressure works, both in the shop and on site. I was disappointed when promised a call back for work and wasn't told until the last minute that I wouldn't be going to back to work.

Always interesting. Learned some welding/plumbing and HVAC systems. Management willing to teach and was very patient. Physically demanding. Felt liked I accomplished a lot at the end of the day.

Although you work long hours in a day, this is an excellent company to work for.  Great crews to work with.  Enjoyed my time working with the men, always welcoming and easy to get along with.
