Peer co-workers are supportive and helpful to one another. There is very little feedback from supervisors (negative or positive) and the work culture is divisive and full of double standards.


Mary Maxim is a comfortable, enjoyable place of employment.  Staff works as a team to solve problems, come up with new ideas and are friendly to work with.  Some staff have been here for as long as 35 years.

really like working there the people were great it was a pleasant easier kind of position.  great company that has been around for a long time and so much thing to learn with company, crochet knitting quilt etc...

only plus is the people you work with are great, friendly and fun.. 

theres no room for movement unless 'favored'. 
no pay increase except for goverment issued.
if you show your worth you get used and abused. 
if no drama, drama is created.. 

I was hired to help seasonal before the store closed down. It was a really lovely and welcoming environment. I loved helping people find materials for their projects. My co workers were great, and it was overall a good experience.

Briefly worked here. Heard from folks who had been around longer that there was no salary growth or position growth, or at least not often. The employee community was nice.

I was hired to assist as cashier for their annual tent sale and possible extra days if needed.  It was a great learning experience and I enjoyed my time.
