Management does not really listen to their employees and is extremely slow to act on issues. Lousy communication between management and employees. Severe lack of training and SOP materials. Little to no supervision in many cases which leads new employees to develop poor work habits from the start. Published public face of the company repeatedly speaks of providing customers with "quality products" yet the production floor culture negates that and only stresses "numbers" at all times. Much of the equipment is antique (more than 20 years old) and is not properly maintained.  The tools are far behind the times in this age of technology.  Repetition within very physically demanding positions wears the employees out. Haphazard organization of various aspects within the warehouse, lacking proper structure for daily processes.

I always arrived 30 min early to ensure i would not be late punching in.
Got a cup of coffee and would get my computer ready.
The first hour was helping out with the phones and running my failed gm reports. Making sure all orders from the day before were checked and gms run. Once previous days orders were up to date, I would work on the new days orders ensuring oldest orders were entered first. We are a paperless company so everything would drop into our bins via PDF so it was easy to watch the orders coming in and i really enjoyed entering the orders off the PDF program. Our Manager would evenly distribute the orders to ensure they would get done by the end of the day.  My Manager was great because she had faith in me to get the job done and would not micro manage me in any way.  I have been working for Masonite for over 12 years and absolutely loved working here.

Slow to start but once the machines got going it was pretty busy and time seemed to go by fairly quick. I learned all about the different door skins and that not all doors are the same in construction. How to spot defects fairly quickly and how to fix the minor ones. The management however was lacking and you had to go search them out, thus leaving your station, when you really needed them. They talk about giving the customer quality doors but seemed more interested in quantity. I would say the hardest part was listening to other workers complain about how much they were being pushed oh and having to push loads by yourself that should be a two man job. The most enjoyable part for me was the exercise I got from all the heavy lifting and constant moving also most of the people I worked with were awesome and I truly am going to miss seeing them at work.

Most of the staff are hard working up to the lead hand level. 
The supervisors are good at reading off paper, have never actually done any of the jobs they supervise.
There is a huge emphasis on daily quotas, in turn quality is going down.
There is just enough staff to run the plant with no margins for sick days or vacations.
The maintenance team is chasing repairs on a regular basis, so planned maintenance is not accomplished as well as it should be.
With a skeleton crew there are many challenges that are difficult to achieve success on.
There is a high demand for overtime if fill rates are not met, and unexpected layoffs between November and February every year.

Work was fun but don't forget your ear plugs. A very fast paced environment so safety is paramount. Being physically fit is important. Advancement was impossible was promoted to a tally position (easy twice the work and responsibilities) only to be informed after getting the position that was supposed to give me a 2 or 3 dollar raise that it was now considered the same as or an extension  of the position I was previously working. I was stuck as tally doing more work than the people in my previous position, the others that should have been trained for tally as well were not. I complained so I was training another so we could switch up during shift only to be fired for some lame excuse once he was trained.

disgusting work environment. the glue from the rollers is toxic enough to burn your skin. the disdain between day and night shift is palpable, and there’s a clear divide.  you’re in the same positions every single day, in my experience for years on end. many people that worked with me had long lasting, if not, permanent injuries, from being hunched over some rollers for 10 hours a day. this doesn’t include the misery if you’re placed in the “skins” department, where the only saving grace (your coworkers) are placed far enough apart that you’re isolated. would not recommend falling into this job, it may seem like a fair wage as someone new to the workforce but you can do much better than this. 

very busy with phone calls and solving problems. I learn that you need to completey finish a task does not matter how small it is because it will allow you to move forward to the next one. Learn to use time wisely and well manage your time , this will help you ease your day and less stress . Listening to your co-workers , allow you to make apprpriate decision and you can resonably communicate with them. The hardest part of my job is when the communication fails between departments. It causes confusions and frustration . The most enjoyable part of the job for me is knowing my customers are sastified with the services we provide and working well with my co-workers.

Plant manager Tom was very good person 
Sometime they provide food and ice creams 
Coffee machines , micro waves and neat n clean staff room to eat food was the best thing 

The hours were my favourite, starting early and finishing by early afternoon allowed me time for the rest of my day. It definitely instilled in me the hard work ethic. The company definitely created an environment where one didn't need to be afraid to ask questions or help. The ability to move up in the company was definitely there which was great.
