I worked in the Garden Center/Christmas Center. I would ring in customers, help customers find anything they were looking for, counted tills at the beginning and end of every shift, cleaned and practiced superb customer service. I learned how to count tills, help and satisfy customers.  The management was great, they would always check in on employees and made sure the scheduled hours would work for everyone. The workplace culture was awesome, everyone was so friendly and diverse. The hardest part of the job was probably the unhappy customer/complaints. The most enjoyable part of the job was the work itself. There was always tasks to keep you busy, but not swamped with work.

Many people have said that when the owner comes near, he makes them nervous. Management positions are only given to those who are good friends with or are brown nosers. Zero help from supervisors from upper management, scare tactics is all it is. Says competitive wages, but starting wage for a seasoned adult is the same as any other adult coming in. They do employee reviews in March before minimum wage goes up so April 1st comes and minimum goes up, they don't have to give you a raise to match what you were making before. Terrible place to work. Only good thing is some of the employees are actually down to earth and will at least speak, unlike management. 

-i know what i need to do when i arrive basically the same everyday. get my station ready for the day.
-management is alright. the teenage employees have more say than the management.
-some are very good workers. others are good when they show up for there shifts.
-i haven't found anything really hard about this job, i think only because i have been doing basically the same thing for 15 years.
-my favorite part of the job is meeting new people everyday.love working with the public.

The Market is a very busy place with lots of interaction with customers, who tend to be very faithful to the restaurant and shopping area. I work in the Restaurant as a cashier, cleaning tables and serving the customers. People come from all over to shop and eat there. The Market is located approximately 20 minutes outside Truro so I travel daily. It is a great place to work and great atmosphere. Shifts are either 7-3 or 1-9. Everyone is helpful and friendly there and I get along well with my co-workers and management.

I love the hours, I enjoy the job itself, you're always on the go, the only thing I really didn't like is my co workers as they are rude and never stop complaining and are hateful. Management is okay, there is too many people thinking they are the boss though. I learnt a lot. I transferred over from another section of the masstown market company and I loved the other position.

Great work environment, that's fun and enjoyable; that has too much drama. Staff are friendly and supportive which makes the days enjoyable. Management isn't the best as the owner doesn't care about anything it seems like. Whenever there was a major problem I'd report it to him and he would just say "yup", but never do anything to fix it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
nothing was really good. they really don't respect their employees

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
everything about it was... you ended up doing more than what you were suppose to do

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
definitely over worked and under paid.

The particular departments that I worked in were a treat for me.  The ladies I worked with were delightful.  Working at the Masstown Market served  purpose for me while I was returning to school and furthering my education.  But, I knew very early on that there would be no advancements.

This is a horrible place to work and i would never recommend to anyone. management is terrible that know one gets in trouble and there’s no such thing as gratitude here, and they couldn’t care less about you. owner is a horrible person everyone hates him including his own family

Lovely place for those looking for part time work, excellent for students as they allow lots of wiggle room with the schedule. Easy to get time off and a very welcoming environment.
