I've been working at matco for a few years and management is very hard on the young workers. A few of my co-workers had a call from management stating they needed to come into work after the employee would call in for a sick day. Does no one care about our health? Management does not care what so ever about someones health. But yet they have the advantage compare to others to work from home.Everyone's health matters no matter what your position is. A manager should never call you back begging you to come in work or refusing your call when you genuinely feel like a bag of trash. Either it's a migraine, flu, stomach flu, pink eye... whatever it is, management just doesn't care about our health. We get paid fairly minimum and expect us to run the show but only train us on basic training and expect us to know how everything works. My advice to anyone that wants to work for us. DON'T. Alot of people that I work with don't even have manners when it comes to unloading customers personal belongings. They have the mindset that "it's not mine" NOBODY CARES.... 

   Each day you were sent a text ,  it will tell you what time do you work to show up for the next day. He will generally get that text around 430 5 o’clock each day sometimes later. When you show up the next day you were told where you were going what you were doing. It’s unpredictable where you will be going and how long you will be working that day. You could be working for five hours or you could be working for 14 hours. You could be working in and around the Edmonton area  . Or you could be working in Cold lake. You never know until the morning you show up for work. 

Your schedule is day by day, and if you have personal plans, be prepared to hear about it. 
Management is friendly until you say "no" to them. 
The crews that are there, household, or commercial, are both full of great guys (generally) 
Just make sure you don't expect regular hours. It's either short, or long days. 
Worst- unless you're in the office, don't expect an invitation to social events. You're just a grunt. 

Management has recently changed with new ownership group.  Young and progressive leadership style, with the intent fostering a positive work culture. 

Fast paced environment, hard not everyone is cut out for the industry so there can be a lot of turn over which can be tough 


Not a good Place as a minority individual, no value in its employee's or work ethic's, another shut up and mind your own business as an employee. Very discouraging and discriminating company to its employee's..
The Manager at the Edmonton office is arrogant and very deceitful.

You move furniture  an its a relatively tough job an if you arnt strong its going to be tough but other than that its just like any other job but just more physically demanding

Manager or dispatch at the time was very childlike in his behaviour. 
 would not recommend it to anyone very reliable work schedule
 IT does have very friendly people that work there but the manager and his son ( dispatch) are the worst

I really enjoyed working here, it was an amazing learning experience with many available options for advancement. If you ever get the opportunity to work here I promise you will love it

great people to work for and with. Learned to pack and load and drive 5 tonne trucks.  Some days are harder than others. In those cases the overtime is good. Job is very seasonal. not much work in the winter.

Management is not organized and there is very little job security. You won't be treated like you are important or part of a team. You are just a number.
