Math4Me

This job is completely dependent on how many kids are there.  Say you were only supposed to work two hours; if a lot of kids show up, they'll make you work four hours.  Also, if you're on call, you'll literally find out your working 30m after your scheduled shift start time (ie you'll get a call at 5pm when you're supposed to start at 4:30).  This company thinks its some higher education place when really they just rented out a small property, put together some $10 plastic tables, hired some teenagers at minimum wage, asked them to do stuff way out of their pay grade, and then feasted on all the immigrant families in the area.  The funniest part of this job was when the Province of BC had announced that the minimum wage was increased to $11.85 from $10.75.  I was making minimum wage at the time.  Funnily enough, I got an email from the manager who tried convincing me that he was giving me a raise.  All the "mentors" were given to work with was a clipboard, some paper, and a pen, and we were supposed to teach up to 3rd year university, FOR MINIMUM WAGE.   People who taught university got paid the same as those who taught Grade 5.  Go work for literally any other tutoring company.

My work at Math4me was good. Although there were times when the schedule was inflexible and I was asked to go to another center for my hours, which was 2 hours from my home. Talking about pay, I started with minimum wage and after 3 months I believed that my work is underpaid so I talked and negotiated with the manager and was increased by $1. Still appreciate the effort! At the beginning of pandemic, all of the employees were laid off because they decided to shut off our center. This was tragic, especially during pandemic and I was left with no job! 

Tutoring students and answering any questions they have. I learned working with students and effective ways of teaching students things. This way I learned new things myself. Anything from techniques to new ways of explaining things. This way I learned my material better myself.

I worked here for nearly a year. The only things that stood out to me was how flexible it was, you could basically choose which days you wanted off every week. Hours are good if you're a student in the area, 2-4 hours per shift. Lots of time for potential breaks and chilling, but sometimes you will be bouncing around from student to student

Salary is low, management is terrible and unresponsive, sometimes there will not be enough students on your scheduled days because there are no attendance policies and you will be told to go home after arriving.  Everything is extremely unprofessional.  Don't waste your time working for this awful company.

Very bad learning centre. Never ever send your kid to this place for learning. For kids its just waste of time. Better to go to any other place than Math 4 me. Teachers have no knowledge .

I started working here in highschool and have been with them for 2 years now. It was a great job for my age with minimum wage pay and very flexible. As Im growing older, Im probably going to start looking at higher paying jobs with more hours but i recommend this for highschool students

Working at Math4Me is rewarding in seeing your efforts being paid off in the improvement of the grades of your students; however, the only caveat is that they hold the responsibility to send you home during the second half of your shift with no pay. So that's kind of a pain lol.

Fun but also sometimes stressful job. Flexible and nice managers, relaxed and casual work environment. Perfect part time job for a university student.

Calm day, only work 1-2 hours 2 times a week. the hardest part of the job is receiving pay. No proper building for Math4me. There is no payroll, and no record of working. Would not recommend.
