Medisun

New company that supplies medicinal marijuana for LP’s Tilray and Aurora. Many problems plague this company - specifically in their product. Outrageously humid in the greenhouse, which obviously creates bacteria in the product. Offensive amount of male pollination and seed in the final product. Shifts can/will be cut, or employees will be diverted to greenhouse work if no product in post production. Company once provided hydration stations, hand cooling stations, and popsicles for employees at break(s). Hand cooling stations and popsicles were eventually replaced with a coffee maker that sometimes had coffee to make - ya know, because you want hot coffee after working in a hot environment for hours. Temp workers are utilized every shift. Supervisors were fantastic. Very ambitious company that dreams big, but reality hasn’t set in yet to upper management. They think if they can grow tomatoes and peppers, they can transition to marijuana. Reality check - they can’t. Very loud environment in post production - still have ringing in my ears a month after working there. Be warned. Do yourself a favour and don’t mention anything about the facility or product to co-workers, or online. The company will terminate you if you say how much you love your job, and the problems/solutions that can be solved/implemented. It’s hard to believe anyone would buy this product, as someone who has been around this crop for over a decade it visually looks horrendous. I would grade it D-, every strain had the same problems. Remove the males!

Since working here close to a year I have gained so much knowledge about Cannabis and the positive affects it has for so many medical situations. This workplace is so diverse and welcoming to all different cultural backgrounds and goes above and beyond to help good people, in unfortunate circumstances through no fault of their own. With Medisun being a newer company that is rapidly growing and expanding every day I can tell you that Upper management works hard and does their best to stay on top of everything. Our Human Resource department is excellent and makes sure all employee's are taken care of promptly.They do everything in their power to be as helpful and present in any situation that is brought to them, and they deal with all situations fairly and respectfully. They work with employee's and will accommodate if needed in the very best way that they can. Pay is fair and there is always room to move up in the company. Vacation time and benefits are both great as well.

HR says one thing and does another and talks about employees to other employees.  There are problems with their decision making skills and staying focused.  A previous poster is correct with the problems with product and upper people who do not listen to those who have experience in the field.  Spinning wheels but going nowhere.  Supervisors are exceptional and have both hands on the wheel.  Management is not focused and have hands, feet, body on the wheel but cannot control the vehicle they are driving.  There is definitely a problem between the COO and the rest of the employees.  Employee morale is up and down because of all of the above.

Production areas are subject to typical greenhouse conditions.  
Very hot and humid in the summer.  Plenty of heat stress relief is encouraged and provided.  
Water stations, popsicles, cooling stations, and extra breaks are provided.  Employee health and well being are the top priority.

Great place to work, I always feel challenged and appreciated.
   
The Future is very bright here.

I worked there for 2 and a half years and the communication between management and employees was never good. There's almost no way to move up in the company unless you are someone's favorite. There is little discipline for people who have a bad attitude or bully others, especially if they are in a higher position than you. 

Not a good place to work it you are not a woman. No room for advancement supervisor and lead hands want you to do everything the way they want but they never followed the guidelines

Great and understanding management and treats their employees with respect. If you need a day off they are kind to let you. Meet a lot of new people and work together as a team. 

This work place has very poor management company is ran very messy, they do not work with you on your personal life outside of work eg. appointments, being sick, child care etc. and most importantly the job is very unstable, you could work one day then not be working the next 

If you are willing to put in the effort and are forward thinking you can succeed here. Management is willing to listen to and accept ideas of continuous improvent. The wages above base production work are good, as are the benefits.

I worked there just under 1 year and a half... made many friends. Great atmosphere. Had a better opportunity so I left. Very hard desicion..because I loved the people and the job.
