Blown away at how disrespectful the leadership is in this company.  I have worked for other companies, and you know when theres good management and when there is bad.   Here at this pulp mill the moral in this place is very very bad and there is a disconnect between the workers and leadership.  22 years is this type of industry and this is the most worst places I have ever experienced.   The HR team needs to be fired. All they do is talk negative about there employees and interviews.  Disgusted with what I witnessed there in Castlegar. 

Management understands complaints, can't always make stuff happen right away, but usually get a good work around until fixed. Safety is a priority. Non-union, so no. Labour Pool or anything like that. Don't be a bad employee and you won't have to worry about your job security. Lots of investment in this mill. Good outlook for job retention. 

Definitely enjoyed my experience here, a great place to learn in many different aspects of the industrial sector.

They offer a great shift for regular office employees (helps with the work/life balance). People are real friendly in Peace River.

Paid for learning opportunities 
Great work location

Cons:
Lack of collaboration between departments
No flexible working hours or flexible time off
Mostly male with females in supporting roles. (notable exceptions)
Old school attitudes

The culture at Celgar was supportive since day one, I felt they have spent considerable time on the com0any culture to integrate and support new employees. Very impressed with on-boarding and overall culture here.

Great people and great atmosphere. Worth keeping the job. Learned so much from having a position at Mercer. They are easy to work with and very kind to new hires.

Enjoyed my time with Mercer Peace River, great individuals and leadership. Living in a remote community made it a little tougher but all in all a great place to work 

Management style is dated and doesn't trust the junior staff. Everyone is cold and standoffish. Not a fun place to be. No work-life balance.  No culture.

working for mercer celgar has been a chill and wonderful experience for me with my ongoing education. They always work around my schedule and my needs
