A sift manager,,was micro managed, higher managment didn't keep agreements after I was promised a raise at a certain level.  Customers are treated like royalty and given large amounts on gift cards,,for very triviel type circumstances. They expect the staff to bend over backwards for their customers, and even give "this is on us" items regularly. Which I love to do,, I am a people pleaser beyond measure. Unfortunately the employees are not seen by the company at all.. We are devalued,,and when they mention their mission, its all about giving to the customer no matter what it costs.. But we are completely irrelevant, many of us celebrate holidays, especially CHRISTMAS!!!!! But not even a table set up with cookies in bags or drinks in bottles or cans in the break room for those that worked the eves of these holidays,,or any other acts of KINDNESS!!!  Also,,working an 8 1/2 hour day with only the 1/2 hour to scarf your food down and gulp your drink. 

It started off well enough. But for all their claiming to be a different place to work, they run things exactly the same as other places. Now they are beginning a cost cutting quest since the min wage is increasing. Raises are poor, will be poorer. Hours are getting cut. All this while the owners take multiple vacations a year and buy new vehicles. You are really just working to line the owners pockets. And you don’t get days off, you just work from home and wait for your phone to ring the whole time. If something goes wrong, the owners will guilt you. Everyday is just a test of how much negative feedback you can take from them. It’s crushing. Lack of paid vacation. No benefits. No reason to work here vs other opportunities.  The salaries page is NOT accurate at all either. Much lower. NOBODY is actually full time. And everyone works at or around minimum wage, with management being paid much less as compared to other companies. With tiny bonuses.

The warehouse does not give off the same vibe as how they seem at the stores. Management are rude and don’t care about your concerns. They hire you full time but you don’t even get more than 2hrs right now. They will only pay you hours worked or minimum 2hrs instead of the standard 4hrs as they won’t give you a set schedule (they just say which days and a start time, no end time as it’s unknown). They say they hire you full time but you won’t get full time until they pickup if they do even pickup. If you show up for a shift, you run the risk of being turned right back around and sent home because there isn’t work for everyone.  I can say most of the staff were lovely just not management. The warehouse Supervisor is really nice and caring and understanding. He actually listens to your concerns without insulting you. The supervisors on the floor (warehouse, shipper/receiver, dispatch, head butcher, produce, dairy) are all nice, polite and communicative. They have lost several staff since opening in April though. They will be virtually starting from scratch.

Definitely a very fun place to work and the management team is very supportive in your goals and helping you achieve them. You will make a lot of friends and will be given the opportunity to carry a lot of responsibility, if you work hard, your hard work will be noticed.
The environment is quite cliquey and not suitable for someone over the ages of 30 as they employ a lot of younger people. It is very easy to move up within the company but for the responsibility and time you are required to put in, you will not receive a fair or liveable wage. If you plan on obtaining full-time employment, also be prepared to potentially need a second job as even full-time employment does not provide enough for anyone that has a family to take care of, the only people within the company that are paid fairly are store managers, and people that work within the office. 

I enjoyed working at meridian for the most part I liked the people, customers and coworkers alike, but the management was terrible, scheduling was subject to change at the drop of a dime and you would be the one held responsible. 
eg: you work Tuesday and have Wednesday/Thursday off, your manager will often edit the schedule on a day that just so happens to be your day off, (eg: Wednesday) and often will effect your next (originally) scheduled shift (eg: Friday). So, you will get yelled at because you dont show up to a 10am shift on Friday, when the schedule said two days ago that you were to come in at 12noon.

Also, you would be forced to work illegal hours without proper overtime pay for inventory. Illegal distribution of breaks.

Worked here for a very long time - started as an ACE and worked my way up in to management. The people are great, there is tons of flexibility to be creative and try new things. There is a high expectation for customer service which has proved great for both the outgoing and the initially shy with the willingness to learn and have fun. It's a very supportive environment, everyone works together to achieve the same goal - give the BEST possible experience (to both our customers and our teammates) It has been wonderful to come to work everyday and feel like I'm doing something more than just working in a grocery store.


This place is very fun to work in. The people are nice, the work itself is various and will keep you busy while not being extremely hard labour.

That being said, there are a few major problems with it.

Raises are very rare and minimal; entry-level employees will only see about 30 cents of raises per year. On top of that, the company is very hesitant with promotions and positional changes. They don't offer many improvement opportunities and the management tends to ignore you if you want to move up/advance in the company, ESPECIALLY if you're younger than 20.

Other than that though, it's a great first job for someone to have and you'll make lots of great friends in the process.

The people i worked with were amazing and the energy of the place was great coming in every day. Down sides: lots of drama. Id also have a million things to do, have more work thats not my job dropped at my feet and then get the store manager asking me why i didnt make sandwiches... I also got LAID OFF WITHOUT NOTICE AND WITHOUT REASON. They flat out refused to tell me why. This was during the pandemic too when i thought I was secure. Also a thing to remember is that the customer is always right.even if what they said was a lie. Or if they call one the sweetest coworkers i had a racist. She got no chance to defend herself or tell her side. She was sent home.

NOT recommended. I did enjoy the upbeat environment however, I was bullied & I reported it & I was fired for it when I took it to mgmt. The mgmt picks faves. There NO lunch room & just ONE toilet for all 50+ staff & customers to use. There are only four chairs in all of the store.  Unsafe with how the pressure to perform outweights safety & creates some tunnel vision with department mgrs. Food product is tasty and comes from great companies.  We were instructed to put out food to sell even AFTER it dropped on dirty floor... (5second rule) !? 
There is a lot of unsafe practices and the work environment is less than ideal.

A typical day at work included prepping the displays, preparing meat products (kabobs, cuts, etc), greeting and assisting customers, dealing with shipments and receiving products, washing dishes, and clean up. Working while closing the store usually meant saran-wrapping all of the deli products and putting them in the fridge or freezer, bleaching all of the machinery, washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, and taking inventory. The most enjoyable part of the job was being in an environment where everyone got along and improving my social skills through interactions with customers. I don't have a negative thing to say about this job.
