The management is not really present very little help.
The co workers are wonderful! Fun and energetic.
Print advertising is a very challenging sale.
Most enjoyable part of the job is creating the relationships with business owners and working with them to create effective ads.

At one time Metro Calgary had an incredible sales team... they pulled together and had a great time doing it. Unfortunately the atmosphere in the office has turned toxic due to a turnover in management.

Sometimes it is tough to meet deadlines
The most enjoyable part is talking with customers

Enjoyed working for this company.  Could be very stressful at times. 
Fast paced, detail oriented. Loved working with people in different cities across Canada.  Felt like a family in our department, got along with everyone, laid back when not racing to meet a deadline.

I made a lot of money working for this company. Unfortunately there was a lot of backstabbing and employees being let go so the new manager could hire his old buddies from his previous job.

Loading and packing old books
merchandising and Displaying new books and products.
Dealing with books and providing a display of them in a rather fast pace well known retail store.

This was a great place to work before changes in management and transition to StarMetro.

While the pay wasn't great, it made up for in understanding management (prior to restructuring), flexibility and team.

If you don't mind working for a faceless bureaucracy on their terms then you won't mind this company

Amazing money, tough culture. Recently purchased by Torstar. Management is not supportive of options to work from home, although the technology is provided to each rep. Micro managed quite heavily.
