I've worked many places and culture is super important. I also expect a Health Unit to be following gold standards in the profession. This place in fact has infractions. That's right the place that would close up your business doesn't even meet the guidelines set out by the colleges. I've expressed to management but they are just so busy and overwhelmed due to lack of staffing throughout the organization makes for a lot of issues. Also changes take forever to be done. Someone came back from a Mat leave and surprise we split your job in to 2 last minute. In terms of rate of pay I have compared them to 6 other health units outside of GTA and they are the lowest. Also the Union only focuses on permanent staff. Covid resulted in a ton of contract staff. I think the issue is communication and valuing the staff. Big turn over of staff. This place is almost too big to ever get things done. Would I recommend working at a health unit- yes, this health unit -no. 

This is my dream job. I would stay here forever if my job was full-time. I work part-time as a program assistant, and the only thing I I would change is the opportunity to work full-time. 
I would run out of space if I listed all the things that are going positively at this workplace, but the number one best part is the work culture. I would highly recommend this work place to anyone. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt, as they are older reviews and every department is different.

People are nice and helpful but the pay is terrible unless you are highly placed in the organization. Sometimes management seems to lack any direction at all and does not communicate very well with one another. Good learning opportunity, but employment seems to depend on who you know, not what you know.

Job itself is wonderful, colleagues are supportive and friendly. Management is lacking.  They are too preoccupied with micromanaging you.  They expect more and more, but when things go south, you are completely on your own, with no support. Work culture is horrible.

I worked for MLHU as a clinical supervisor on the vaccine and preventable disease team as well as the infectious disease team. This experience was the highlight of my career! The leadership and the environment inspires you the achieve excellence! 

Flexible hours, great pay and great atmosphere. People are fun to work with. Managers are very understanding and compromising. Wished it was a permanent position.

Worked here as a practicum student and enjoyed everyday and just about every aspect of the position. The teams involved are full of great, knowledgeable inspectors and managers.

For the past few years the Middlesex London Health Unit has developed a culture for negativity. The moral is terrible. Most of the staff are unhappy with the Management and direction it is going in.

I worked in many different divisions but mostly with Education and Research in the Library and for the Epidemiologists. Also in HR. Absolutely loved the people I worked for and my colleagues. Many great memories!
