Worked at Midlite for a few years. There was a lot of work to be had and the pay was great. Sometimes that meant too much time away from home. But the people are great and the work on site is very structured and safe. Sometimes you're waiting a long time for permits on-site, but that is how it is in Fort McMurray. These guys are the only way to go in McMurray. They're on every site. Owner is a beauty that still climbs and hangs out with the crews. During the downturn in 2015 he promised everyone 40 hours/week for an entire year even though they could've laid off over 100 ppl. Solid company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ownership and supervision. Some of the best people I've ever worked with and for. They always made me feel valued. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Never felt any stress. Always had the support to complete projects. They are very safety conscious. Always appreciated. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment for the most part was calm. It was like a big family. Very respectful. Always felt valued 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Safety at the beginning of the day. Assignments very clear. Most days flew by quickly. And then debrief at the end of the day.

Great group of managers & friendly staff, they've recently moved into newer shop which is closer to town which apparently has concrete flooring, sure makes a mechanics/welders job more enjoyable compared to the old shop which was compact dirt with lack of heat.

6:30 am - 5:00 pm  for 14 days

Very good company that has a great amount of opportunities to advance your career and a very relaxing environment and management is directly involved in many areas as well as employees development 

if you are wanting to start a powerline apprenticeship, than this is the place to go due to the fact that Midlite works in many different fields. When times are good, everything is good, when times are not so good however, you really notice it through out the company.

I have learnt how to read blue prints, assembled towers on sites, was taught a lot of safety and was orientated. The hardest part of the job was when productivity was slow on site when we waited for steel to assemble the towers.

Great people to work for , good crews ,many different jobs , people are willing to train you on many different skill sets. it is a diverse atmosphere and skills , the crews are formed with local and from across Canada trades people.

Overall good company to work for. Management was great. Management easy to talk to and approachable. There is a great saftey incentive program. All new equipment and well maintained.

No leadership and was never told what to do at  my job. 
Very toxic environment and no direction or leadership. 
Tons of empty promises and management / ownership are drunks
