Typical Day:

On a typical day I manage inquiries from clients related to Ministry incentive programs, contact clients about outstanding legal obligations related to incentive programs and manage Excel spreadsheet used as database. 

What I learned:

I have learned the importance of continuous improvement. Business processes can often be improved. I recommended, wrote and implemented a business process improvement designed to increase client compliance with terms and conditions of client agreement with Ministry.  I also created the conditions necessary to test the efficacy of business process improvement by creating control and treatment groups.

Co-workers:

My co-workers are highly educated, hard working and well meaning. 

Hardest part of the job:

In the public sector you have to accept that priorities and decision-making processes are often driven by media and big P politics. This can create challenges.

Easiest part of the job: 

Once I learned the requisite program knowledge, inquiries from Ministry clients became fairly routine. 

Most enjoyable part of job:

The satisfaction I get from seeing a task through to completion.

The place should be conjusive for me to able to do the job as expected of me, in that condition i will be able to learn new things to upgrade myself.
The place management will be maintain at all cost, respecting the rules and regulation of the company and approved the company name  to the higher.from the general director to the lower position should work hand in gloves, asked questions when necessary, conduct either monthly or quaterly meetings to know in areas that needs to be improve, and give credit to the manager and employers.That hard time is when the resources and the equipments are not sustain or not available will make the job very hard for the worker, and if the worker dont know how to do the job properly.
The must enjoyable in any work are , when your boss appreciate your job and press youe efforts, give you the curage. And also pays you as agreed.


I left a great role for this position looking for a better opportunity and ultimately left a few months later.  In addition to the unstable public health sector, I had the displeasure of working with the most incompetent, condescending & unqualified manager ever. She had little knowledge of my role & constantly depended on the difficult & nasty Research Analyst to train new staff. The workload was unevenly & unfairly distributed, leaving me with the short end. When I spoke to her about it, she did nothing. Many of the staff were unhappy with her & ultimately left. There are far more qualified WOC that deserve this role over her.

This job gives you plenty of opportunities to learn and challenge yourself.  Co-workers were professional and were available and willing to help.  Extensive driving and many nights away from home in a hotel is required.  One egotistical team leader made work life miserable for many professionals who left as a result of this person's behaviour.  Nothing was done when this individual's behaviour and unprofessional conduct was reported to the manager.

Due to this being a profit making business contracted by The Ontario  Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, called Syked Assistance Services, the physical and mental well being of the nurses are not considered in this high stress level job. Nurses are not supported by their managers and complaints only get you threats of losing your job. Alot of good nurses have left or have been fired for complaining about the stress level or attempting to start a union. When fired you are told if you fight them, your leaving package will be smaller!!

If you have fun in your niche stick there. The grass is not greener on the other side. 
Job advancement even though an opportunity to move into another pay grade comes with challenges like different managers, or heck now you report to 3. Because there’s a ton of middle management. 
Benefits and pay is good. Rises every year. Sick time. But he ready for a slow moving project environment, takes forever to complete any project. If you can handle that and the management oppression. This job is for you. 

Pros:
- Supportive management and coworkers
- Great work-life balance
- Many resources for continued education or learning things outside of your job scope, leading to great opportunities for career advancement
- Good pay

Cons:
- Things can get really hectic in a fast pace environment when there are contentious issues for the branch
- OPS is very big on internal hiring, so it is very difficult for outside applicants to get in
- Medical benefits are not the greatest

As with all Ontario Public Service jobs, working for the Ministry of Health holds excellent job security.  The benefits and hours are fantastic and allow for a desirable work-life balance.
The content is both interesting and meaningful depending on the program area you work in.  There is plenty room for advancement and employees who exceed expectations are often rewarded.

A typical day at work is fast pace; requires excellent time management skills. Interview and record reviews and travelling. Hardest part of the job is report writing and staying on top of workload. Most enjoyable part of job, is with travelling you meet people from all different culture and backgrounds.

This is an ideal workplace, where you are respected as an individual, I feel my needs are met. There is a strong culture of inclusion and appreciation for work-life-balance. The work itself is very administrative, sometimes challenging, and is always different which for me makes it quite interesting. The people are friendly, and are always ready to provide assistance, and help the newer team members.
