While the company boasts talented individuals and offers a decent work-life balance, its potential is hampered by several key issues.

Senior leadership, surrounded by "yes men," struggles with a lack of focus and constantly shifting priorities. This creates an environment where, despite hiring skilled employees, their expertise isn't fully utilized or trusted.

The company's lack of product-market fit is evident in its reactive, trend-chasing approach. Despite claims of customer-centricity, decisions often prioritize the latest "shiny object" over solving core customer problems.

This lack of clear direction and unrealistic goal-setting results in a demoralizing cycle of missed targets, layoffs, and blame-shifting. Unfortunately, dedicated, long-term employees are often the ones who suffer most from this instability.

The people are great to work with but I would stay clear of a company that prefers group think over employees who would try to do what's right.  It was a strange to see good people get laid off when they called out issues and give sound recommendations.   So most people will just agree with senior management to not get laid off.   This culture is very well known now in the community and people are pivoting.

At the beginning of a career change in IT, I had applied to Miovision when the company was still in their startup phase in an small office building on Otonabee Drive in Kitchener. Unfortunately, I (along with a few others), were let go after just 6 short months of employment, and I was unable to find a new position in IT thereafter, which resulted in me reverting back to low wage jobs.

Growing company that puts a lot of thought into their employees, and try to improve where they can.  Compensation is lacking for some roles, and while somewhat made up for in benefits, there is a lot of room to improve compensation especially now that people are working remotely and do not get the added perks from the office. 

This used to be a great to work for, but not anymore. Seriously reconsider before applying for work here. The culture Miovision is branding is in shambles and the organization is changing for much worse and there are talks of future glory always being delayed another year, every year.

Miovision is a great place to be a software engineer. The pay is excellent, the work/life balance is the best of any place I have ever worked, and the unlimited vacation policy is amazing. I wish I was still working there!

Prior to management change, team culture was excellent and cohesive. After change there were almost no opportunities for salary increases and team members were no longer valued over profits. Sudden and excessive layoffs and lack of trust damaged morale.

supportive workplace culture with comprehensive training. A typical day would include choosing clients and working on quality assurance for their reports before being submitted to them. Staff are able to take frequent breaks

I found the management very competitive and ahead of their competitors. Advance approach in latest technologies. Finance team has right people and right leadership to lead the team.

Some great people, programs, and intentions with how to structure work and treat people, but had disfuctional leadership in areas and amateur people practices, even if they were meant to be generous
