This nursing home is, like all nursing homes right now, in a stress period because of COVID 19. 
If you start new in an environment like this, you are hoping they keep their promise to take care of new employees. This is not the case here. I did not get orientated properly...there is no communication with the leading staff, no one is interested in YOUR side of the story. 
It is really not worth to risk your life here...if you start new this is. PSW's who are seasoned here....can say all they want. No one believes a newcomer though.....

Part time employee, no possibility of advancing hours.
Consistently learning, evolving, finding new ways in doing specific tasks depending on compliance of residents. Hardest part of the job, inevitable death of residents. Most enjoyable part of the job, seeing improvements and personal goals of residents being met and surpassed. Management of specific department I was involved in was outstanding, management of the building itself was questionable, not consistent communication throughout building.

Management micromanages all their staff, you are just another number there and are treated poorly. It’s constantly walking on eggshells and the job is extremely busy for the nurses, never enough time but you get reprimanded if you do not get things done. You are typically always working short.

It was an amazing team to work with. Very clean and professional work environment. I would of stayed there forever; if i didn't move out of province. Management team was so approachable and always willing to help. I would highly recommend seeking employment in this facility.

●	Assisted clients with A.M. care routine, hygiene, getting dressed, eating breakfast, etc.
●	Electronic charting 
●	Changed soiled bedsheets with fresh sheet
●	Assistant with client activities (choir, bingo, walks)
●	Assisted with lifts
●	Bathed clients
●	Responsible for taking care of 2 clients

The job itself is ok. Staff are great, no room for movement however, they always seem to be short staffed.

Permanent positions rarely come up.

Some of the long-term residents run the show and that puts the nursing staff in a tough spot. And the nurses aren't really supported by the upper management.

Given COVID, things are ever changing but everyone comes together as a team to get things done. Management does everything they can to support you and the residents. Lots of work available if you want it. 

A busy ,fast paced ,full day.The hardest part of the job was dealing with other staff.Awesome working with the residents and the great staff that they do have.

-Some staff are mean and rude but others can be your best friends.
-Residents are great! 
- very fasted paced environment 
- not enough staff = Always working short 


You are responsible for a lot of staff, not enough time, very rushed.  Residents can be a handful at times so need lots of patients.  You likely get night shifts till you have seniority.
