If you work in the office your safe - you'll be treated well.
If your in the shop - your screwed. 
The owner gets some kind of sick joy yelling at shop staff, he never seems satisfied by anything. But also won't spend a dime to make things better. Everything is everyone elses fault. The only time I've seen any emotion that wasnt him losing his mind was when he had overloaded us with work and wed gotten so far behind (even with the forced overtime) and he started telling us how it effects him family. Well we have families to and we work in a unsafe, unclean and unhealthy environment and he just yells at us. 
I didn't want to put a review but after reading and seeing how all of the office staff give him praise and the rest of us didn't, I had to say something. So if you are going to work in the office there, you'll probably be okay. But if your looking for a laborer job you should keep looking.

To start the owner is 30 year behind the times on how you treat people. He is rude and intimidating and takes pride in ripping an employee a new one. He thinks it makes them work harder. He has been taken to the Labour board more time than I can ever remember any other employer I have worked for. He is a bully and. Degrades his staff. The working conditions are poor and unsafe but he dosent care and production is number one. Employees don't even have a clean place to hang their coats or belongings. The paint shop is open.  to the rest of the workers because he won't fix the positive air  unit.  There is little to none safe working practices. The ventilation is poor so workers are to blow the wood or haszardest dust off the machine and into the air the rest of. The employees breath. I would not recommend this factory to no one.

I worked in the drafting department and I enjoyed my time there. However, I had to leave due to some personal circumstances. The Managers and HR at Mirmil Products were very understanding with everything. It was a good company to work for and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to advance their career in Drafting. You will learn important skills in AutoCAD and Microvellum. 

I cannot speak for the people who work in assembly/ factory part of Mirmil, but I enjoyed my day-to-day work. The only thing I found lacking in comparison to my previous job was a sense of community. 

If you are an introverted, hard-working person this will be suitable for you.

At Mirmil they offer lots of opportunity for training and growth to all employees.  They just did a 3D printing course for ANY employees interested and prior to that it was an AutoCad course and blue print reading.  For employees that show up, do the work and demonstrate potential they offer specific training opportunities and special projects to grow your skills in order to put you in a position to advance.  They are quick to recognize deserving employees and management puts in the extra effort - monthly lunches! - to make it a good place to work.  Also awesome that I've found a job relevant to my education and no longer having to commute to the city for work! 

Working at Mirmil for the past four months has been a truly memorable experience. My skills and knowledge on a variety of topics exponentially grew, all thanks to the amazing management. I can truly say there was never mundane moment, and everyday flew by!

The flexibility and fairness of the company is omnipresent and that is immediately clear from the very beginning. From the excellent monthly lunches to the priceless friendships made along the way, it is my belief that, as long as you’re willing to learn and work hard, Mirmil will support your success in, and outside of the workplace.

I love my job! I should have switched careers years ago. I have learned so much since my first day, and with help from management and Co workers continue to learn. There is always room for advancement if you apply yourself.  There is always lots to learn no matter how much experience one might have. In large employment culture there will always be personality clashes, I,myself had very few encounters with coworkers.
As the company evolves I think many of the negatives things will change or correct themselves, as new people and ideas present themselves. 

 I'm not sure what management was like in the past but they are helpful, friendly and willing to work with you.
 


This place is horrible place to work. There is no pay raises not to mention there has people that have been there for 10 years or more and still make 15 an hour There is no safety and the main safety rep does not practice what he preaches. Also there is people in this place that will lie right threw there teeth just to cover there own butt and throw others right under the bus when the weren't even around d there is a few good people to work with is this place, then you have some that do f$$k all and some that are over paid for what they do. Geuss what I'm trying to say is if your looking for work keep looking

I have worked for this company for a few years and I have nothing but good things to say. This company has grown so much since I have started here. I am treated with respect and thanked everyday for the work that I do. If you take the initiative to learn new things then you will be compensated for it. The work is always changing so everyday there is always something different going on. Management and my co-workers are great and easy to get along with. We are provided appreciation lunches through out the year as well as lunches every week in December for Christmas.

Poor management, starting from the top trickling it’s way down. Unless you’re ready to be belittled and ridiculed by a very entitled owner, I would avoid at all cost.

HR isn’t there for you, they are there to protect an owner that has no problem yelling at you, degrading your work and dismissing the many safety concerns. They don’t know what they are doing half the time or have an answer to many common questions, concerns, paperwork, leave of absences, etc. 

If you don’t “fit in” on the floor, be prepared to be pushed out the door. 

Awful benefit package.  


Management was ineffective, architectural drawings were done by inexperienced people who had no real world experience with the cabinets and mill work they were drawing. This made assembly almost impossible, and most tasks would take triple the time, as a result of preemptive design fixes at the assembly stage.
