I am an integral part of the team where formally I am the lead in the Capital Management space where I perform all the functions that I have described in the resume. However, on the side I am also involved in the Resource Management space where I assist my colleague with auditing any new consultants that have been hired in the wrong bracket based on the new governance that is being developed and implemented in house. Moreover, we also raise tickets and approve tickets for new resources - only consultants - once we have completed our due diligence. On the other hand, I speak with the foreign exchange desk and the Treasury department for questions relating to foreign exchange risk if there is a project that will heavily invest in a currency other than US dollars and to see if we are able to minimize the risk in case the dollar drops in relation to the other currency in question. I also socialize ideas on Business Management calls and seek feedback on pain points regarding getting projects approved. I work with teams that are looking to raise new spend requests and explain to them the workflow involved in getting an approval and why their spend request has been sent back. Moreover, I am also putting all best practices, documents that I have created on SharePoint and am currently in the process of putting the the approval process for both the Capital Management space and Resource Management space so we can get all approvals at a central place while eliminating the need for sending emails back and forth and giving full transparency to all stake holders.

-Many different IT teams in who seek to only preserve their own reputation and face at expense of others due to too much work pressure, leading to excessive political blame games and fights
-As of 2019, most (over 60%) of IT workers are sourced from India or cheaper locations, including big offshore based offices. The promotions and growth are only for those with shady unethical backdoor connections, the vast majority rest of workers will stagnate. Managers and bosses continuous seek to profit more for themselves at expense of the workers
- Tons of unpaid overtime and weekend hours is illegal if brought to light and more worker discontent continues.
-The 360 annual reviews is too overly picky and unjustifiable.
- IT managers need to stop being so stingy to their hire more local staff already, instead of chasing "efficiencies. Be more flexible and accommodating for your workers. 
- Recent focused transition on "Agile" means more frequent layoffs for all workers who cannot match extremely high and painful pressure, sending workers to earlier death (See Karoshi and also Chinese 996 work hours culture news). 
-I was one who such who was laid off, now I am glad about it and never looking back. Be prepared for more revolving door and higher staff turnover rate should this continue, mark my words: your own excessively demanding and incompetent IT managers shall seal the doom of your own company.

Good for a start.
Managers are supportive when they have not been stressed out themselves.
The job title says customer service to justify the very low pay, but you do a whole lot more than the typical customer service/call center duties. It's an insane amount of financial services work load that goes on here, you just aren't in a "brick and mortar store front". 
There is no clear path if you are looking to change teams and apply to internal roles. There's some internal bureaucracy when looking to leave the team. The work environment goes beyond fast paced and generally very stressful and leaves you drained at the end of your shift. They try to poach you to take the FINRA examination, but the salary for the added stress is almost nothing compared to the industry.

At the beggining I was very pleased with the culture, is relaxed. 

Later I realized the Issues that the Co. has and then is when the honeymoon and the marriage ended.

They have a lot of problems with management. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.

There was an enormous lack of training and when people made mistakes, they were certainly nailed to the cross or fired.

There is no support or coaching from management and is very frustrating since there is no real processes in place to do your job.

There is a lack of people since the company is growing, but the employee base is not and they cope  with temporary people that do a mediocre job at best.

Salary is a big issue, lot of people here complain all the time about the little money they make.

There is a lot of nepotism, so if you are part of the family or friends with it, you will get ahead. The other more capable people is left aside until normally they leave.

It's a shame that a company with that much potential, is so mediocre treating their employees.

I do not recommend this place is a dead end.

Relationship with co-workers. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I don't know how it works now, but when I was employed at Shareworks the pay was extremely low for the kind of work we were doing.  It was a bit of a kick in the gut when I found out that new hires were making an average of $5,000 more in annual salary than I was making.  Moving to a higher paying job within the company didn't help that.  Internal moves were still underpaid while external hires were paid much more.  You would think a company would value the experience that current employees bring, but it seems that those without company experience were valued more.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Though the company talked the talk about how valuable their employees were, they didn't follow through with any kind of evidence of that.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long, stressful hours with lack of support and blame if mistakes were made.

I was a software developer but my official title was technology associate on Montreal. Also, the following review might be different depending where you are in the world / company.

Pro:
- Work life balance.
- Workplace diversity.
- Great policies in general, felt like they were also enforced.
- Great colleagues.
- Lots of opportunities to mingle and socialize.
- Montreal has standing desks.

Cons:
- Terrible banking style.
- Loads of useless meetings.
- Loads of regulations.
- Bad software development practices, not agile, weak technology stack.
- Stuck in the 80s.
- Improving things was not really encouraged.
- Difficult to transfer the skills you learned.
- In the technology department, lots of talking, not much achieved.

Overall:
It depends what you want to do. I dislike imposed hierarchical structure and I like things that are well done, effective and accurate. Also, I like working. unfortunately, I could not fully concretize theses goals at  Morgan Stanley in Montreal.

I would describe the role as to being much closer to a Business Analyst.

Company as a whole is pretty good. Montreal salaries are above average but far from top notch! Good benefits!

Total job insecurity as in most Wall Street banks! Promotions are quite hard so better negotiate what you want salary/position-wise upfront!

Politics wins 100% of the time over simply prudent/rational decisions.

As in most big companies meaningful change is slow and painful. 

Senior management is far from tech savvy which is the least to say annoying for younger generations which they so claim they want to win to come and stay at the company... it's a dinosaur of a company basically that way despite of it having almost any old & new technology you can think of. So yes, they have the tech, it's just not being used to its potential due to politics, misunderstanding of how to be used, how quickly to be deployed, etc.

Diversity candidates are a major priority and actively sought out sometimes at expense of qualifications even...

People at management level are usually technically competent. The pay is relatively good. 
The development culture needs a little shifted more towards looking at the big picture, having a birds eye's view and vision, trying to tackle the problems at the root rather than getting into the rat-hole of indefinite bug fixes.
The company is too hierarchal for a software development environment. The higher managers usually have started junior at company and have grown in the firm all their career, and have not experienced other work environments, thus sometimes they lack a broad vision on problems.
The job security especially for consultants is low. They easily let go of consultants as soon as they do low on profits.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This used to be a good place to work. The so called ‘culture’ they force down your throat is long gone. It’s just another place to collect a pay check now. Put in your 5 years and get out. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Always living with the annual and sometimes semi-annual layoffs. Way too much stress and worry for what is an average job at best.

Not great. Very little in the way of team building and most people still don’t come to the office

Boredom. Outdated tools, old infrastructure, and management disconnected from reality or too bossy, rude and micromanaging.
