Movie Gallery

A typical day at work consisted of helping a customer pick out a movie related to how they were feeling at the moment. When you help a customer the most important thing is how the customer feels. If someone is mourning the loss of a friend, you would never recommend a sad movie, or an action one (hard to follow). You would recomment a light hearted comedy film so help the person escape the sadness. Completely cash or debit/credit card transactions
I also was responsible for the scheduling and filling out charts to be sent to head office tracking sales from fellow employees, conference calls, as well as double checking every employees closing balances.

I loved working for this company, however they were not helpful with letting me hire a full time assistant which was needed. They also did not want to change or lower pricing that is probably a reason for the closure of the entire company.

Movie Gallery was a relaxed and easy workplace. The employees were fun to be around and easy to get along with. 
I learned a lot about team work and the importance of employee-customer-interaction while working at Movie Gallery.
The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with customers on the floor. Helping them find a movie that was just right for their movie night.

Arrived at store, reviewed last night's paperwork, did morning paperwork, and opened store. Co-workers arrived and assisted with customers and day to day duties such as shelving movies and maintaining store cleanliness. Closed store and went through closing paperwork.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the constant music and movies.

When first working at Movie Gallery I was introduced to a group of fun bubbly employees. They made me feel comfortable instantly and was completely helpful when I had questions that needed answers. It was great getting to work with fellow employees that truly cared about each other, and spreading the joyful mood onto the customers.

While working for Movie galley I was determined to be the best Line supervisor for the company. We would send out over 20 -30 thousand Dvd's, games, and vhs tapes daily.

An enjoyable fun environment, I had the opportunity to take management duties by processing inventory and performing interviews. Co-workers were amazing and very helpful, the most enjoyable part of the job was performing inventory.

If you enjoyed movies,lax work space and fun co-workers this was the place. Was a fun place to work and always kept busy during a 8 hr day from Running cash, stock and cleaning. It was a place for anyone that wanted a stress free job and enjoyed talking about movies and games.

Great customers, great staff, free rentals, great discounts. 
I loved my time at this company. The connections you make with people are truly authentic. In a day and age where you could download anything for FREE. Our loyal customers came in to our movie store for the EXPERIENCE.

Loved working for Movie Gallery and Video Update. My managers were positive and supportive. I loved helping customers find the right movies and steer them away from ones that might be inappropriate.
