I worked at the one across from the Rogers centre downtown Toronto. The management was the worst, there was only ever people coming in for takeout. They had me serving tables (when there were tables) and cleaning toilettes. I take extreme pride in my work and work ethic, but one day I was having family issues, and had to leave two hours before the end of my shift. The restaurant was completely dead and the manager was there. I had a note from the hospital saying I needed a couple days off, they made me work the next three days following the night after I left and then proceeded to suspended me for a week, told me to call at the end of the week but when I did they suspended me a second week and then at the end fired me. I should have sued them but too many things were going on and I didn’t have the strength to do it. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS LOCATION.

- check if the washroom is clean
- clean the front windows if neeaded
- look over the reservation book and set the tables if nessesary
- start seating the guests as they come in
- help the servers by cleaning and bussing the tables it it's busy
- make sure to follow the rotation
At that time I was new to Canada and didn't speak English as well. It was hard for me to understand everything that was spoken to me. On the other side, my co- workers and my manager as well as the rest of the staff were very friendly and helped me in the times when it was very busy and they made sure I knew what I'm suppose to be doing.

A typical work day starts off at approximately 10:00 am. I would re-stock items like forks cups straws etc. refill ice, wipe down tables, lay carpets out etc. at around 11:00 I would turn on the open sign and get ready to greet the customers.My Co-workers are very friendly always smiling. The hardest part of the job would be working 10-12hrs for two or more days if a co-worker is absent for whatever reason.The most enjoyable part of the job would be interacting with the customers and feeling really great after knowing that they enjoyed the time they spent there

Mr. Greek was my first job which made me hate working in fast food. Had a terrible manager, never got paid, everything was dirty and unorganized, we got treated terribly by the manager and other employees who thought they owned the place, health and safety regulations were not followed, favorites were always picked, the work hours and breaks were also not organized properly and the favorites always got to chose when they wanted to work while the people who weren't favorites got to do everything. horrible horrible HORRIBLE place to work.

The workplace itself was very dramatic, with every employee gossiping about one another especially with the managers. Lots of cliques. It felt very exclusive. If you can get past all that though the job itself was decent. A lot of the customers were delightful (although some were not), and overall it was a fun, fact-paced work environment. Good minimum wage job.

Worked here every morning from 9am-3pmand prepped all of the food for the dinner rush. Cooked from scratch all the recipes. Did the dishes on Tuesday's when there was no dishwasher. Most of the time working the dinner rush after working the morning, serving and cooking the food from 5pm-11pm or so. Closed the restaurant down by putting everything away and cleaning. Very busy and face paced environment.

Nothing. Absolutely abysmal work environment. Exploitative and toxic.

Exploitation, no pay, unpaid training 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Incredibly toxic. Would not recommend if you want to preserve your sanity. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was not good. Very very bad. Chaotic and unorganized.

The most typical day at work would be the time when you run out on something on a busy day. I have learned that working as a team, it's the secrete way to get the work done faster. The hardest part of this job would be when you can't make it to work, the management won't be able to understand your situation and they would always forces to come into work no matter how bad your health condition is.

I was a Mr. Greek worker for 2 years and that's where I learned everything. I am very thankful for the opportunity but the management was horrible very un organized by this I mean that we wouldn't have a schedule you would just assume they days you work, no pay stubs meaning that your cheque was either wrong or you weren't even getting it on time. typically we would walk in to do prep with our head manger missing.

A typical day working at Mr. Greek is very past-paced with friendly staff. Learned many things, and improved on other skills as well such as communication skills. The hardest part of the job is during peak times, but everything goes smoothly with everyone communicating properly making everything run well. The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendly staff members.
