Typical day at work would be either at 9:30 in the morning a few hours prior to class and store usually opens up around 10 so i'm usually there to open. I would get the dough out of the fridge (which was prepped the night before) and I would place it in the proofer for 20 minutes and then place in oven. I then would move onto the next job and that would be opening the store and switch the old food to fresher food. 
If I worked at night, I would prep bread for the morning, prep vegetables and clean the store. 

This job has taught me to be more careful with my time. If you slack off you will get nothing done and if you're working a night shift and do everything last minute, you'll be stuck here for an hour past closing. 

Management is amazing, I absolutely love it. They make sure their employees get along and if there is any problem with schedule they take care of it right away. They try their best to give as many hours as possible and try to be equal. 

My co-workers and I get along very well. We're all very social people which makes us all get along. After working, sometimes we hangout, and have supper. It's a lot of fun and working with them makes working fun! 

Hardest part of my job is not getting enough hours because of their hours and the time i'm at school. Since Mr.sub is on campus they close earlier than regular restaurants. 

The most enjoyable part of my job is that I work with amazing people who are respectful and understanding. Plus, I get free lunches and it's close to home and is only a step from classes. The work load here is very simple and anyone can catch on.

Worst management and work environment ever. Unsafe, Unsantintary conditions. No one at the top or bottom has common sense or a conscience. The place is a complete dump site. Management sells trained contaminated or recycled filthy product. ANYTHING to save a fifth of a cent. There is no steady schedule to manage a second job. There is a visible double standard to all who aren't from India. Racism is a real problem. No acknowledgement of employee issues are dealt with unless you're Indian. There are no raises, bonuses or incentives of any kind. There are no breaks. There is no employee privacy at all. (Cameras are everywhere and the owner watches you at home on his phone. Even at 2am). At closing your pay stops even though your work continues and asking for payment only gets punishment and much debate on whether you deserve it. There is simply too much to mention in this little box so just take my word for it. Don't eat here, don't use the bathroom and definitely don't work here. It is the worst place I've EVER worked and these are the worst human beings I've ever known. Dirty, lazy, greedy, consciousness people. Run!

I smiled at her and said I was working on it, and once she left, I removed myself from the front of the store to calm down, doing work in the back.
The most enjoyable part of the job was making friends in the mall. Many people who worked in the mall would eat at Mr. Sub every day, and I got to know their names, and memorize their orders.

I started when I was in grade 9 so my hours were 5-8 sometimes 9. They were short but good for a student with loads of homework! I made subs the way the customer wanted them, then collected the cash. That was my job. Very simple. Or so I thought. I was left alone in the store for hours on end after my shift was over one weekend during the day and we were very busy. That was against labor board standards because I was only 13. I was doing things I had never done before. Preparing and serving all at once. It was so overwhelming! Then some theft was going on in the store and the manager was held to blame by the owner so the owner fired her and hired a guy who laid off all part-time and tried running the store on only full-time employees. In the end he was fired and the old manager was re-hired and the employees were offered their old positions back. My co-workers were kind of weird but in a good way. I worked with these gay guys who were just awesome! One of them was a hair dresser and always gave me hair advice. Cool right? The hardest part of the job was not knowing everything because I didn't work all that often. The most enjoyable part was the praise I always got from the manager. She was always telling me how awesome I was and how she needed me to work for her.

I worked very hard and was yelled at all the time for things that other people should have been doing. We were off for a week for renovations, and I went back to meet the new owner, and found out she knew nothing about us, and my boss had put into the sale that he had no employees to transfer in the sale. I lost my job, with zero notice.

Good job for high school students. They’re very friendly maybe too friendly. Lots of confidential information about other coworkers was shared by the managers, as well as bad talking previous and present employees to the staff. The store itself (at the time) seemed to be a very laid back work environment, none of the cameras worked and were hanging from the ceilings, which “encouraged” staff to do as they please. The pay was slightly unfair for the amount of work but the tips helped. In my opinion the managers slacked off from time to time and depended on staff for unnecessary things. There’s 2-3 people working at a time, you won’t work with the managers unless you work a day shift. Many times we asked for help and did not receive it. Their entire staff quit in the span of a month, so that should tell you something…
Overall it was an “easy” and fun job, fast paced at times since there’s only 2-3 workers and there is a drive thru as well as the customers inside and the subs are made as we go.

Provide advise and information on all products, Operate cash register, debit/credit card machine, take orders by phone, prepare various platters for customer company meals, provide accurate float cash at beginning and/or end of shift, end of day printouts, reconciling, inventory control, ordering supplies, order, receive and distribute coin from the bank, human resources management, shift management, store management, employee training and assistance.
