During the most recent season, I was very dissatisfied with my experience in the rental shop. A typical day at work often became stressful because the supervisors were unprofessional, inexperienced, and not properly trained. This was especially noticeable when compared to staff who had been working there for one to two years. Those long term employees were often treated worse by new supervisors who acted as if they had significant experience and authority even though they were still learning themselves.

There was also noticeable favoritism toward specific staff members. These individuals were allowed to take on less work or avoid busy tasks, and in some cases they were encouraged to try out supervisor responsibilities while other employees were scrambling to handle crowds and rushes. This created an unfair and dishonest work environment.

Management within the rental shop rarely stepped in to help during peak times. Instead of supporting the team, some supervisors would stand around, sit behind the staff computer pretending to be busy, or hide in the back. At times they were on their phones or chatting with friends while other employees were working hard to keep the shop running. This made many of us who had been there longer feel undervalued and ignored.

Overall, the workplace culture felt discouraging and unsupportive. Burnout occurs quickly in this environment because the employees who put in real effort end up carrying the workload while others avoid responsibility. It was a poorly managed environment and I would not recommend working in the rental shop based on my experience.

Beautiful place. Great customers. Good company that offers quality equipment and training. The glaring issue is onsite management that has all the individual knowledge and ability to fulfill the job but weak leadership ability which causes problems between co-workers. A management course would help. As is, the site is a personal fiefdom with everyone but the common-denominator blamed for the problems. The admin process should be audited too. It's ripe for lost revenue due error or intent. That's a hint.

Managers are willing to help with the schedules and are down to earth. You can see them on the floor every day. The GM didn't just sit in his room. He always appears somewhere in the resort without noticing, which is good that he knows what is happening.

Go to the mountain the people all very helpful.

Crazy drivers that that drive uphill and downhill in bad weather conditions.

Everyone was very helpful, willing to help out in anyway possible. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Shuttle guest to and from the mountain.

Free pass, meet people all over the world, fun parties and get to ski everyday. The resort is experiencing great growing pains so management is a little disorganized. Pay is garbage but what you’d expect from a ski resort. Have money saved up if you’re working here or you’ll be living off noodles and cheap beer all season.

For my first season out in Canada, the team at Mt Seymour have been extremely friendly and welcoming! Its a great small mountain resort with all the terrain you need for teaching classes. If you want to develop yourself, management are happy to give you the tools and guidance to do so. 

Its a fun job with fun people!

- easy quiet work, good for a first job
- lots of coworkers with working holiday visa's
- transportation to and fro the mountain can be tough especially without a car
- hour can be less than ideal if you are PT, shifts practically eat up your whole day (7 to 4) (4:30 to 10)

In this job, there is a good balance between life and work, but it may be hindered by the absence of snow.
The salary is slightly higher than the base pay, but the commute is quite far.

While some days were stressful due to the amount of customers or how they treated us, I overall had a fun time in this role. Our supervisors and managers were very nice, and made some friends amongst my coworkers for the season to ski with.

beautiful locations of work however the management, safety, and Training are poor at best. Low pay, poor equipment, confused Management., I would avoid a job at this place…
I quit over safety concerns.
