I would supervise others, (as well as perform these same tasks myself), as they built skids with specific produce for specific stores, and loading what they had staged when the trucks arrived. I would co-ordinate with the other building to ensure that we received the products necessary for that shift's trucks. I would use the computer to co-ordinate the shift's workload, ship trucks out, print BOL's (Bills of Lading), Pick Tickets, some customs paperwork as needed, etc. This was a very fast-paced environment to work in. My co-workers were, for the most part, easy to work with. The manager 2 rungs above me was almost impossible to please. The hardest part of the job was when when all the trucks seemed to arrive at the same time, (some being late, some early, etc.), and they didn't want any trucks to leave late. The most enjoyable part of the job was when everything got out on time and we actually had all the products on hand that we needed to dispatch these trucks. I learned all about working in a greenhouse/warehouse environment, and the difference between mini-bell peppers and rustico peppers, etc. I also learned how to run a loading dock, work with other departments, such as re-pack, where they prepared the products that we were to load, how to work with trucking companies, truckers, etc. I also learned much about regulations with cross - border trucking. That was enjoyable to learn as well.

I enjoyed working their and my job duties however working 6 days a week as a single mother is somewhat tiring but then you are expected to stay late everyday having to write reports and what not ( which is fine) IF they actually had the appropriate computer space and availability.Only 3 computers ( 1 that freezes and is useless) and 5 employees it is quite hard to even get on a computer. Again as a single mother and a child who will be getting home from school or a babysitters I need to go at my scheduled time and which was agreed with the supervisor before starting, I don't mind staying later but would be nice to know an hour or so in advance to schedule babysitters and arrangements and at that time was agreed upon and not a problem or concern. However at the end of the day you MUST stay or job is in jeopardy however they get to go home.
Liked the job and duties but very accountable for everyday life and if your a single mother with responsibilities is very stressfull

Always a change over in office staff. Pay was nothing to brag about. Thou the employees were all team players and friendly, the owners were not. Quite often walked past you without recognizing you are there. The people who worked so hard and the ones that dedicated their time were never appreciated. More was never enough. Director of operations is all about nailing  workers to the cross, error was not aloud. Education and communication is the key to a successful team, however the HR Department and some managers didnt utilize the tools they were given to manage and respect their employees. HR members have relations with off shore workers and pit each other against their own department personal. 
Mucci Farms continues to grow, but honesty, loyalty, dedication, and respect didnt help them get there. The destructive managers at mucci, are the ones that drove the bus that hard workers were thrown under. It's sad that there is such a fowl taste in peoples mouth when they hear you worked for Mucci!

Each day is eventful and has enough work to make the day fly by but the pay is an after thought. The only thing that kept me there was the people.

 They call themselves a “Family Company” but they don’t care about the workers that make the “Family Company” a company. I always heard complaints on how “No one wants to work” when is should actually be “We don’t pay people right, overwork them and then force them to work 6-7 days a week with no overtime and are to blind to realize the issue”

On a side note, just because you put a little plastic tent from the place where produce is PACKED not grown, to the “farm” just to meet the provincial legislature so you don’t have to pay your workers overtime is sickening.

I’m my own opinion don’t work here if you have self respect or want a life outside of work. There are many better entry level job that pay more and are 5 days a week.

At the end of the month, the workload tends to increase significantly due to deadlines, which can make it a bit more stressful than usual. There’s a need to stay highly organized and manage time effectively to ensure everything is completed accurately and on schedule.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is very supportive . Teamwork is a key.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
 I spent most of my day working independently at my computer, where I could focus on my tasks.

A typical day would include reporting progress on the computer as well as on report papers, collecting and making tags and entering information in computer as well as on paper, keeping updated with line leader, supervisor and regular workers, getting stickers for produce when needed , cleaning up, etc.

I learned to do the above. The management was great (this includes : line leader, supervisor, manager) , however HR department needs a lot of improvement as well as the company itself. Co-workers were the best part about the job. The hardest part would be to see the co-workers  being treated so unfairly.

Mucci farms is a very profitable produce Industry. Only good thing in this firm is that you get a good job security.
However, I have a feeling that Mucci doesn't value their employees as much as they should.

There is NO night pay if you are working night shift ( I am a night shift worker). Also there is NO extra pay for the additional hours you work. You just get the pay you are being entitled.

If you look at the profit this company makes for themselves l, they can treat their employees far better.

Work life balance is abysmal. Working too much is just seen as one of those things they can't control and so any suggestions on how to do so is met with a flat no. Will lie about your wages, give paltry raises and work you until you lose it. If you want a fast paced job that can involve long hours, constant infighting among departments, and bosses who really don't care (even though they claim to) then this is the place for you.

I don't understand how a company with such a bad reputation still hasn't grasped some things. No one wants to work 6 days a week for minimum wage. Being treated like dirt by rich greenhouse operators isn't working yet they continue to demand their employees work hard everyday for them. I am also wondering how they haven't come to the conclusion themselves..IF you treat PEOPLE well THEY WOULDN"T HAVE THE TURNOVER RATE THEY DO. People want to enjoy their weekends just like those greenhouse operators do with their families!
