Working as a Solar Sales Rep has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The team is supportive and invested in your growth, with mentorship that extends beyond office hours. If you schedule a lesson or reach out to trainers after work, they’re happy to help, which means you always have access to continuous support. This level of dedication really accelerates your development, making sure you're never left alone to figure things out.

While there’s no base pay and gas is out of pocket, the structured training and straightforward approach make it feel almost like an hourly job. You’re essentially getting paid to walk around and chat, all while selling a product people are actually excited about. It's far more fulfilling than pushing phone services or charity at the door.

The environment is also a huge plus. It's fast-paced and energetic, but the camaraderie among the team and the support from management make it a positive and engaging place to work. There’s plenty of room for personal growth, and the sense of purpose in helping homeowners save on energy and contribute to a greener future is incredibly rewarding.


Company is extremely disorganized, as a sales associate you will be trained in the basics of sales and solar. But it’s amateur at best, more focus is out on training you to survive their intense expectations. 

You will be expected to work 6 days a week,
 if you have any issues with sickness or health that requires time off, you will have to defend yourself as they will make baseless accusations about your work ethic. 

The sales team you will work with will be amazing, but the leadership at this company will lie to your face to keep you happy with endless promises of “growth” 

Compensation is a big issue, there have been many sales people who came forward with issues regarding them losing money during their first couple months. 

And even if you do stick it out during that period then you’re rewarded with training the new sales people as their retention is atrocious, alongside also being expected to hit your KPI’s or risk being let go. 

The industry is great and the sales team is friendly, but the company has a lot it needs to rework before I can morally recommend this company to anyone. 

In their entry level sales you’re reliant on a group of Solar advisors to close deals. 

 They make the real money, and you only get into that group by Investing yourself financially and physically for under minimum wage (once you break down hours you’re working per week) 
Until you train enough people under you to get you into an advisor position comfortably. 

The sales teams are fun to work with and it will be a great environment, especially when you’re all bouncing ideas and strategies around before implementing. 

Unfortunately for the sales position, I can’t stress enough that due to their lack of training, and high expectations it leads to extremely consistent high turnover.
Which makes it very difficult to get yourself into an advisor role as their is no solid foundation of both leads or proper training pathways. 

Creates a strange informational hierarchy in their sales force.  

mySolar has been one of the best opportunities i've ever had the pleasure of taking on. Not only have i excelled as an individual, but the management team and higher ups have lead me down a path of success. Everyone is very willing to help and give you time to learn. 

An an inside sales consultant, my day-to-day tasks revolve around customer retention, lead generation, as well as customer service when needed. Working alongside mySolar in this period of growth has been amazing, their really is never a dull moment. The most enjoyable part of the job are the people that i get to work with and the wonderful home owners i get the pleasure of chatting too!

The people working at the company are friendly, I believe but that won't cut out the need for compensation. Even though the posting says base pay, there is none. It's only commission and selling Solar kits is not an easy task from what they said. You only get paid when a sale closes thoroughly till deployment. Until then, you bear all the expenses to bring and retain the client. Just putting it out here for people who would expect a base pay, there's none so be aware of how you will be compensated. You are also expected to work 6 days a week, without any pay.

We would have training/pod meetings for about an hour and a half before heading to the field. Some days we were driving over an hour one way just to get to the turf, they wanted us to knock until 8 30 before heading home. Making the hours close to 12 hour days. The pay for this position was awful, as a top performing setter you were making about 900 dollars a week which after breaking down the hours is under minimum wage, before accounting for gas.

Warning for anyone who wants to work here. During the hiring process they make it seem like selling solar is very easy. When's your hired talking with everyone you realize the closing ratio here is very very low.

There is no base pay and there's a lot of driving involved. Mileage is not covered.

They hire you for door to door and tell you they will move you up to leadership which is also door to door.

Working at MySolar has been a fantastic experience. Great team that’s a pleasure to work with, very growth oriented. I learned a lot about the sales process and have grown a lot as a person. Compensation is great but you have to earn it which is exactly what I was looking for. Hardest part of the job is being consistent and having a strong mentality but if you can do that the earning potential is really high and seeing the results of the sales process is extremely rewarding.

Typical day is a meeting and learning period at office, then we go door to door, then when you're a solar advisor, you go and have sitdowns with people.
