Typically we had to speak with 13 customers every hour. Outgoing calls went uninterrupted. Usually I had no time to catch my breath. Occasionally I had to deal with irate customers. After 8 hours of this job I was rarely able to work extra hours. 

I learned how to deal with human anger and that people are the same wherever you go. 

Management tried to be accessible and if there was an issue, they were always there to offer you an advice and / or coaching. Great guys! They are professionals. They tried not to top customer-generated stress with unrealistic expectations. 

My co-workers were great! The problem was that I barely knew most of them, since we tried not to speak during our breaks. Those I knew (from training and breaks) are great! But the issue is that you are always one on one with you customer and you have no time to speak with anybody else. 

The hardest par of the job is that your throat and your butt is paining and there is no way to escape it since you are «wired» to you working place. Irate customers add to the hardships of workers.

I enjoyed the most the sense of fulfilment when I could deal a tough case of a nice customer or to calm down somebody who tried to play tough with me.

A typical day at work was dealing with disgrundled people, Some calls started out not so great but in the end , they went away happy. I use to do over time with them if needed at times I said no. I tried to always keep a smile on my face even though some of the calls were brutal. One thing I always felt was that if a person called and cursed at you the worst names you ever could be called then, you should be able to warn them  a couple times and then release the call. I learned it takes all kinds to make a world, But I have been in Customer service of one kind or another for 40 yrs , So I have learned a lot along the way, The work place culture was pretty lay back, as long as we did our job and got good quality all was good, I would say the hardest part of the job was to be swore at by very filthy words, trust me I can usually handle it at the best of time, but what happened to not allowing people to verbal abuse you. I enjoyed the awesome customers that I did get, appreciating what I had done for them, I believe kill them with kindness,

Working any call center job has its pros and cons. A typical day starts with you getting to work 10mins early to set up your desk and log on to your computer and make sure you're on one that actually works, too. Then, start taking calls. Most of the calls will be people interested in either upgrading their phone or buying a new phone and line (I worked in the Sprint/Nextel division). Be prepared for a LOT of repetitiveness and sitting. A lot of talking. Most of the calls were pretty simple. A lot of days there would be training of some sort, which I loved getting off the phones to do. Then go do more of the same. The days were long. I learned not much, just a lot about the Sprint and Nextel phone companies had to offer. Maybe a bit about the newer technology in the cell phone industry. Management was all really great. Positive and helpful. The hardest part of the job was the repetitiveness. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting off the phone to do some training, or breaks because there was some awesome people working there that I got to break with sometimes.

The company promoted me to management after a year of being the top performer which I am grateful for. They saw the dedication and drive in me early and gave me the opportunity to join the leadership team. 

The representatives were scripted and the leads were auto fed through a dialer so the only coaching we could deliver was quality coaching, rebuttals, and professional polishing. 

The most beneficial part was the investment NCO made into our management training. They invested in ACES training yearly which was an excellent course on how to manage people and integrate within each different personality. The course covered everything from delivering positive feedback to crucial conversation to termination. I benefitted from this greatly and still use these skills daily.   

Morale was high and we focused on that daily by rolling out contests, prizes, and games which made it a fun place to work and promoted a fun environment.  

The local office closed and transferred out of province. They generously offered me a transfer however I could not relocate at that time.

- Spoke with 8+ customers/hour in regards to their delinquent accounts
- The #1 thing I learned was to let mean/hurtful comments roll off my shoulders & to maintain a positive attitude even in the least positive situations
- I absolutely adored my supervisor as she always seemed to care about her team members and their work as well as on a personal level
- For the most part my co-workers were always able to offer support and help if needed, and alot of them I was able to maintain a relationship with outside of work
- The hardest part of working at NCO was the outrageous things some customers would say in order to try and break you down, I have never been called such horrible names & spoken to in such an unprofessional manor before working at NCO, which eventually led to quitting as it was taking a toll on my physical & mental health
- The most enjoyable part of the job was being around my supervisor and co-workers who were always positive, as well as the incentives NCO would do every month to show appreciation for their employee's. The team potlucks and pizza/subway lunches for reaching our goals were also a huge plus while working at NCO.

It's fun to work at NCO! Has a diverse group of people, which you'll encounter in a daily basis. In fraud department (Capital One), we operate 7 days a week. What's nice in this department we have the option to work 4 days a week having 3 days off or 5 days a week having 2 days off whichever will suit you. You'll have a regular weekly team meeting with your supervisor and if there are updates that you need to know they will ask you to go online in Capital One University site. Supervisors and managers are approachable. I guess the hardest part of the job is having a night shift in your schedule meaning working until 11 pm. But in general, it's an easy job. I would recommend this job especially to those people who are studying or who are doing double jobs. What i learned in this company, since it has a diverse group of people you have to be careful and be sensitive to the beliefs of others. What is important is that you always respect each other and give a helping hand when others need it.

My time at NCO has been a very interesting journey , starting as a debt collector, moving on to a collection supervisor position and eventually project management all within the first 2 years .I was able to learn all about the credit card industry while leading my team towards success.Ranking 1st place for 11 consecutive months amongst 3 competitors, my proven success in collections helped me find my way to the fraud department In 2008 , where i was given the opportunity to accepted a job as a manager for the same client. In this realm i was able to focus on developing client relationships and my analytical skills in order to lead a team of fraud account supervisors. I was responsible for ensuring client requirements were met while maintaining a positive working environment and team spirit.

I learned many skills such as patience, simple computer troubleshooting such as wireless connection resolution, new computer programs specialized for GeekSquad, setting up in-house appointments for Technicians.
The management team was great, they were very helpful, patient and willing to take time out of their busy day to assist with supervisor calls and teaching new resolutions.
I have made a lot of great friends who were also co-workers.
The hardest part of the job was the extreme high call volumes and stress trying to figure out a solution for the customer.
The most enjoyable part of the job was talking to and helping people with their issues and making new and good friends.

hardest part i don't find that much may be when customers yelling us on the phone when their credit card declined
more enjoyable part is also when customer yelling us on the phone with bad words.

No fix hours.worked for walmart  rewards mastercard campaign. Confused management who don't keep their promises.most supervisors don't understand the concepts and give out wrong Info to the agents.low salary and no benefits as promised in the end.Never appreciate agents.make u feel worthless. Manager knows nothing of what is expected and believes by firing agents then he is efficient. No fixed working schedules.most of the chairs at the job are broken.poor headsets.infact shame to nco who keeps exploiting it's workers . biggest part of the campaign is ran from the Philippines because of cheap slave Labour. No innovation no possibility of growth .bilingual agents too 11$per hour! Staff earn money agents earn crumbs!!Exploitation! !!!
