This is an extremely negative environment, I would encourage you to find other work as soon as possible, watch out. No one shows up and if staff do they come and go as they please, again run away, there are a lot more better organization then this one. They don't care about community all they care about is where funding comes from. 

Great organization. Strong sense of community and good leadership. Very helpful to individuals in the community as well as supportive of local businesses. This organization works hard to make life better in the North End of Winnipeg for everyone.

I met some wonderful people at NECRC and continue to talk with them but unfortunately the work environment was toxic and very competitive. Management was poorly run and couldn't maintain staff and consistency and caused issues within departments.

Definitely hard work but has a great sense of belonging and has tons of flexibility which is amazing. 

Staff are lovely. Tons of support through out. 

Flexibility around work schedule if you need to do something important. 


Highly unprofessional organization with no direction.  Receive funding based on misinformation and deceitful tactics.  Perform bare minimum to fly under radar to keep provincial funding.  Manipulative and deceitful organization.

Required attention to detail as well as fine skills and time-management because crews had limited time in each unit. 
Apprenticeship program is available to painters with encouraging and helpful Red Seal supervisors.

One of the worst experiences I've had in a non-profit. Hopefully it's improved since then but not likely . There was little workplace culture, only culture was staff talking about other staff and no HR to remedy it.

Great place to work.  Great people great supervisors.  Learned a lot from management.  Would definitely work there again.  A typical day would be show up at the shop, roll call go to the job site(s).

It was a great and fun place to work. Lots of different training opportunities. They teach you skills on the job, to help better your chances of gaining the required skills to move on in the workforce.

Very good company to work for. They taught me a lot of skills that I used for future projects. I enjoyed the time I spent there, and would still be there if it was possible.
