It was a privilege for me to be given a chance to work in NRG Electric Ltd, which is more or less in-line with my profession. I have started learning and adopting the Canadian Electrical Code, and standard of practice during my exposure in an assigned NRG project. Management was supportive, provided assistance and upheld the highest standards for safety compliance in the work place. It was challenging to do a multi task work in a timely manner, being able to work at heights and in confined places. Worked independently as well as collaboratively with other tradesman for performing residential jobs. I had fan working with multi culture as a team, though being laid off unexpectedly for the reason that no more available project caused my experience short term.

What is the best part of working at the company?
 The biweekly payment is punctual, they have only been late twice in the seven months I have been working there, they promise to relocate you in the worst case scenario if there are no projects.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working at NRG is that processes are repeated all the time, this is at all work sites.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The NRG company has a good work environment. The foreman is knowledgeable and patient, and you learn the processes, although they don't trust you with responsible work at first.

Simon Cowell said it best, "It's a NO from me". Just avoid this company their pay is really low and their work is low end construction so you won't learn a thing as an apprentice. When they want you to work overtime they only pay straight time. They also won't give me 350 hours for my apprenticeship that I can prove I completed. Like seriously, working for really low pay and then they don't register my hours even after I asked them everyday for 2 weeks. Then they just lay you off when they're done the building.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Work is easy, the atmosphere is harmonious, and colleagues get along in a friendly manner.
However, some journeyman have a very poor attitude towards electrical apprentices.

Easygoing and friendly , but some working rules are very ridiculous 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
General and basic electrical work

I most recently left NRG Electric to go to cairns ,after I got my Journeyman’s ticket. Usually all the apprentices they keep leave right after they get their red seal. I started my apprenticeship with this company and for the many years I have been with NRG, I learned little to nothing. They pay is much lower than industry standards, benefits are little to none, and the people incharge here has no idea of what they are doing. They offer overtime but they don’t pay overtime rate.

Worked here as a first year apprentice. My team was very supportive, and taught me so much. The work was at a nice pace; not rushed, but not too slow. All interactions with the employees were very positive.
If you are an apprentice, and are wanting to learn all there is to residential construction I recommend this company, If you show eagerness to learn, they will spend the time to teach you as an apprentice.

Currently employed at this company. Typical low end new construction work. They are always looking for new employees because of the turnover rate is high. This company is one of the worst ones I worked for. Journeyman wage is lower than industry standards by far.  Group benifits are in tiers, where new employees benifits are a much lower tier than the owner’s.

At the morning they had a safety meeting that was same all of days !one guys sayed same things about safety!
After that you start for working 

Supervisor was not strong enough and another guys interfere in the works 
So that was not a good 
Bud owner was a good man 
You can learn lot of thing in this company 

Chances of personal growth, not much stressful environment. Supportive working culture and feels like a family. Flexibility is provided. Lots of appreciation.

They are hiring all the time and the pay is mediocre at best, especially for an apprentice. I wish I could recommend this company but they sit amongst some of the other electrical companies that should be on the wall of shame.
