Working at NRML was an interesting experience, I learned a lot working here and I was able to interact with some really down to earth artsy people. Even though this is primarily a retail clothing store, they provided opportunities that are unique and well connected to the local urban art scene. If you are a photographer, artist or stylist of any kind you would most likely enjoy your time here.

If I had to choose a con it would be, you have to be focused and ready to work hard. this place may seem chill but they don't slack! If you are looking for something super laid back, this isn't the place for you. They are very cool but still professional and business oriented. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, considering the discipline they have, helps everything to run smoothly, keeps employees busy and engaged while also helping to keep the business flowing.

The people I worked with were great. The work environment was stressful most of the time though due to the owner. The owner does not care about the wellbeing of anyone. He thinks anyone can be replaced.  The turnover rate was high for the two years I worked there. Many people have worked at NRML, but few could state they felt their job was secure. The reason most people work there is due to the other employees that make working there bareable. Having access to nice shoes and decent clothing is a perk. However, having a store owner who does not see the worth of good employees does not make NRML a good environment. Today, most of the great employees have found better opportunities in retail where they feel valued. 

-A typical day at work consists of assisting very fashion forward individuals who love the product as much as you love selling it to them!

-the pride in being part of such an amazing team, providing amazing product, to even more amazing individuals. my coworkers and i got along very well and it was more of a family than anything.

CEO and management are terrible.  Unfairly treated and no respect in the workplace.  Hard work goes unnoticed and people are fired at the drop of a hat.  I've seen in several instances employees being fired immediately after doing hard labor, garbage management.  The CEO is constantly trying to get the employees to do free and unrelated work to their position.

I worked for 1 1/2 years and my biggest complaint was the management and how I was treated. I was expected to go above and beyond all the time, be available whenever they needed me, was guilt tripped anytime I took a sick day and my contract was broken when they decided they didn’t want to honour it’s terms anymore. I am a very hard worker but I felt completely taken advantage of and not appreciated for how hard I worked

Things started out alright then quickly declined.  Toxic environment and colleagues are encouraged to tell on each other out so CEO could fire them without severance pay.  Long hours and no appreciation for employees.

Spent some time at this company as their Buyer and Social media manager, but started as a sales associate and moved up to management. Loved my time here, left because I felt as though I needed to grow as an individual more and seek greater pay.

Management will emphasize how much of a big family they are, then proceed to try and belittle and undermine you in every way they can. 

Management treats staff like its a high school mean girls club and it shows with how little customers come through the door. 

The people at NRML make the environment a great place to work. Also the fact of working with great brands such as Nike, Adidas, Canada Goose, etc. NRML makes working there very exciting.

Its pretty fun. Everyone there is really nice. You meet a lot of cool people. Managers and staff are all very friendly and constant good music while working.
