I have experienced the hardship of being a Fly in/ Fly out worker. Its great for time off and great for money but is difficult being away from home. Luckily you are around hundreds of other people who have to do the same thing and can have a laugh about home or anything while still working to get the task done. At this particular occupation I had to pack and tie Re bar as well as guide trucks and co-ordinate landing of large loads of re bar with cranes. Management was easy to get along with and great with handling my needs and requests

What is the best part of working at the company?
Well organized with a family like atmosphere where everyone got along. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It wasn't stressful but the weather was always on your radar. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Family like and everyone got along.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day consists of a toolbox talk followed by a stretch and flex where everyone participated by demonstrating an exercise.
Site inspections and auditing.

My time here was great for the money but horrible in terms of management.

I was “laid off” because of my “poor work ethic” and was “lazy” yet I had zero direction there. I did the tasks I was told to do. I did them efficiently to the best of my knowledge and abilities. The management never addressed any issues to my face, in person. Instead I heard of these “issues” after I was laid off by colleagues still working there. I found that extremely childish.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great experience with Nahanni Construction

In the end of the projects when you don’t know where you going

Very good, great people.  The company looks after you

Down time need to be working late to let you know if or when you are needed

Busy days and time off for two weeks very nice

Morning tale-gate meeting. Going to assigned jobs. Remove hazardous contaminated materials/waste. Loading sea-cans with meter bags. Assist operators unload meter bags off of trailers.

*Hardest part:getting suited up & unsuited two times a day each

Work atmosphere good among workers season cut short due to fire told had lots of work at other job site but apparently not true took only certain workers back ?? skipped over a rotation  of scheduled workers after fire restart now bunch of employees home with no employment 

long 28 day shifts with very little communication to outside world due to remote location.
Very disorganized company for a management stand-point.
Lay-off workers without notice. 
Very (who you know) picking order. Relations and friends are usually last to be laid off.

I enjoyed my time with Nahanni and would work for them again anytime.  Great benefits and easy to deal with.  Suggestions are well met and company staff very helpful and respectful.Safety is a top priority with this company.

I enjoyed most days of work, from the data entry and lab testing, to the physical labor and housekeeping duties. Management was a tiny bit messy, but never in any way that messed with the job. The night shift was a great learning experience, too. Overall, an amazing experience to learn how such a job can work out.
