My daily tasks are basically routine as outlined on my resume and I work the evening shift usually by myself when there are no shows in house I have a co worker when we have shows I find that the hardest part of my job is getting from one end of the building to another if I am being called as the building is over 1 million sq feet but most of the time the person calling is very patient that is the enjoyable part everyone @ the NAC is extremely professional towards one another which makes everyones' jobs important to each other it is a hand in hand operational team work effort that makes the job enjoyable.

I have always felt privileged to have been able to work at such a prestiges venue and wouldn't change it for the world.
I love my family at the NAC and have learned a tonne in the last 18 years.
The hardest part of the job are the hours we operate and weekends are none existent in the entertainment industry.
Losing out on quality family time, especially around the holidays like Christmas was always hard.
The most enjoyable part of the job besides the feeling that you worked with your family members on stage was seeing the end result.
The response from the audience at the end of the night made it all worth it!

It's a great place. However, people are not given opportunities to grow, and they rarely give anyone the chance to advance. Usually, the staff are okay, but the managers are the worst. They are arrogant and overbearing. Many employees disrespect one another. It's a toxic environment, and HR knows about it but doesn't do much about it. Bullies are still working there in high-paying jobs, siphoning their staff's talent to get the job done while treating them poorly. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
To be expose to incredible forms of art  and experience them first hand.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Its a changing environment , constantly challenging  due to the capacity of having  multiple performances and events at once.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depending on the Job and department but there's a mix bag of environments Over all a Wonderfull place to be part of.

I love my job as a banquet server here at the NAC. The communication between peers, captains and managers is exceptional and everybody is very helpful and friendly. A typical day at work would be a setup of an event or working the event ex: serving dinner at a prom. Then clean up once the event is over. 
One thing that could be improved upon is the training: having a new worker shadow a more experienced worker during their shift would definitely work a lot better.

F & B Dep. is giving the Company and CEO bad name, Employees say how they lie push employees to work extra hours  with no pay even though it is union.

To the public, it is a place that promotes diversity, but if you took a group shot of upper management, it is all European ancestry and male. Forget working there if you are not one of the 17% of Canadians that is bilingual.



I love the National Arts Centre it's  a fun place to work and we have one of the best benefit plans for your retirement! 
We have free tickets for shows and sometimes you are able to meet the artists
I know everybody here at my work place, we are more like family (we spend 1/3 of our lives here right?)

Decent place to work. A lot of hoops to jump through and sometimes it feels like you're being shafted. They are a good company to work with, however the employees are somewhat unprofessional at times in their personal discussions among themselves.

Working at the NAC has so many perks - paid breaks, free guaranteed meals, great coworkers, and wonderful management. Working here is a pleasure! Every day is an opportunity to meet new people and form connections with customers while leaving a positive impact on their experiences and time at the NAC.
