Roles of staff and department responsibilities  are unclear, as is  direction, and expectations. Feedback is not provided , expectations not clarified. Very dark upstairs, hazardous with lack of sufficient lighting, including on stairs. Knowledge of products is not taught prior to speaking with customers, and taking customer orders. Be prepared to self train.Google is your friend, but is not adequate when customers are relying on these products for medical reasons, and are investing a lot of money in them. One person on site is the product ‘guru’ that must be referred to if/ when available. Appears to be underlying dissatisfaction with staff members that they are not privy to, but management eludes to. This is the opposite of a ‘positive environment’, as it is claimed to be. No one is hired without completing a working interview, if you have other job prospects, do not turn them down for this ‘alleged’ opportunity. 
The work itself is not difficult,  breaks are limited to one, 15 min pd, and one 30 min unpaid. You must work an 8 hr shift to earn those, a 7 hr shift is just one 30 min unpaid lunch break.
The customers were the most enjoyable part of the job. I learned that the company appears to base their decision making on whether they bond with you on a ‘friendship’ basis, not on your abilities or strengths.  They will deem you not a ‘good fit’. Also was put in an uncomfortable position when asked about why I completed a task in a certain manner, I chose not to answer this fully on the basis of a medical reason that I chose not to disclose. The question was very rude, as was the follow up to the question afterwards. 
Mirror the personalities you meet within the mgmt team and you may get further. They are looking for a ‘type’. And they like themselves.

During the time I worked at National Nutrition I was a model employee, I consistently worked hard, had a great attitude and stayed focused on my tasks assigned, I never did anything I wasn’t supposed to unlike other employees. I didn’t get treated the same as other employees, I was friendly and respectful to them so i’m not really sure why, I believe it may have been because of my mental health struggle’s even though the reason I wanted the job, to better my overall health while being productive. When I tried to learn more they didn’t allow me to get trained on other jobs, not sure why as it would just be beneficial to them. At the end of my employment, I found out by trying to look at my schedule and my account was deactivated, after I reached out asking about it, that’s when I received an email of them firing me with no explanation. I called multiple time and on the 5th call I made after being on hold for many minutes, I finally was able to reach my supervisor and I asked multiple times about what I did wrong and why they let me go, they would not give me an explanation and kept avoiding my questions aswell as speaking in a very condescending way so I ended up having to hang up the phone because I was very frustrated and I didn’t want to be disrespectful to them. Overall I do not recommend working at this company at all, although some of the coworkers were kind and helpful people, the managers are not. 

The co-workers are the best part of this job. They’re supportive, hardworking, and great to be around. Unfortunately, the management creates a stressful environment. Employees are constantly monitored through security cameras, and even brief conversations with co-workers will have management telling you to get back to work. Music isn’t allowed, and the atmosphere can feel overly strict and controlling.

There have been attempts to enforce questionable policies, like requiring employees to clock out for bathroom breaks, which is not legal. OSHA guidelines aren’t available, and most staff are unaware of them due to a lack of training. Advancement and training are typically offered only to favored employees, leaving others with few opportunities to grow.

Scheduling lacks flexibility, and consecutive days off are generally reserved for management or their preferred staff. Work-life balance is not prioritized. Additionally, if you take more than six sick days, management may ask for photos of your prescriptions, which feels invasive and inappropriate.

Overall, while the people you work alongside are great, the management style and policies make for a difficult and frustrating workplace. Don’t turn down other job offers for this joke of an “opportunity”. 

I worked here shortly during the pandemic and left after they stopped talking to me or scheduling me for shifts. It seemed like they were trying to ignore me/bully me in to leaving. After asking me to get multiple COVID tests for anxiety related stomach problems they started to complain about my attendance but kept telling me not to come in. 

-Staff lie about symptoms because they can’t afford to miss work or risk being fired 
-The shifts are long, you only get a half hour and a 15 minute break. You have to sign out and then walk to the break room and walk back in time to check back in. The managers have dogs that they take out multiple times a day and I doubt they sign out for those breaks. 
-dark and dangerous, boxes and ladders all over the place, too many staff in small area and on top of that they also allow “reps” in who stand in the aisles and make it more dangerous. These reps do not wear their face masks properly and seem to spend most of their time socializing with each other and the management. 
-no time to socialize (unless of course you’re management) so there’s so team feeling
-because you always have to be on the move management is mean if you ask too many questions or take too long to find something. 

At first this was a great place to work, as long as management liked you. Then the pandemic hit and everything became about money, fulfilling ad many orders as possible, long hours and no care for work life balance. You were encouraged to work many hours of overtime, and come back in and do it all over again the next day. Sometimes this effort was appreciated, sometimes it wasn't. 

As soon as management decided that you weren't worth it anymore, their whole attitudes changed towards you, and coming to work every day started to feel like dying. It was especially fun to not recieve a job description of your new role if you were promoted. This ensured that you had no idea what your new duties were and made it so management could berate you for not doing these duties that you had no idea you were now in charge of.

There was always a revolving door of new employees, too much cross training to where you almost weren't sure where you were supposed to be and toxic people that were allowed to continue working there when others were fired. 

I recommend avoiding this place at all costs, save yourself the stress and having to deal with toxic people. The pay is decent but not worth your mental health, trust me. 

Company attempts to gloss over job and make employment appear to be all happy and great in the beginning, but the truth comes out pretty quickly. Zero understanding from management about work/life balance, it is expected that you kill yourself to do your job. While smiling. Customer's are generally happy, because prices of supplements are lower than competitor. The reason why prices of supplements and products are so low is because employees are not paid well. There is a "cap" on what you make in each department. Human Resources is a know-it-all on a power trip and thoroughly enjoys rubbing it in everyone's faces. No flexibility on hours, you work what they need you to work or that is it. You are just a number. No benefits. No raise until 6 months. Clash between departments constantly. Clash between co-workers constantly. High turn over rate. Every employee tip toes around the owner because he is an intimidating person that no one wants to be on the wrong side of. Don't believe the YouTube videos of happy employee's, everyone there is miserable and doesn't like their job. For a health food store and supplement company, there sure are a lot of smoking employees.

I worked here for about a year as a cashier and I was the only employee that lasted over 8 months that wasn't a part of upper management. The work environment was toxic. One example is we weren't allowed to have water bottles with us on the floor but they got mad when I went to the back room to drink my water more than once or twice a shift. Multiple times I would be given a task that would take over an hour to complete and once finished another manager  would come by and tell me to put it back the way it had been before. It made work drag on and really made you feel like they didn't ever appreciate anything you did. Another time a customer was very rude to me and I stood up for myself and they made me go apologize or I would have been fired. They only cared about the customer and it showed. 
One last thing is the music was awful. It was this spa music track that had no lyrics and was something you might hear in a elevator or waiting room. I would often find myself falling asleep while hearing that in the background. 

I usually worked a 9 hour shift, about 10-7 5 days a week. I liked most of the employees I worked with, however the owners were rude and unpleasent and I was surprised they are in the health and nutrition business. They didn't seem to care much about their employees and weren't very friendly to customers either. The owner asked all employees if they had/needed education to assist with the job and offered FREE nutrition courses to some employees but only people who had low income etc. This was unfair and biased. Working as a cashier there was very little to do yet I would get yelled at for not doing something. Customers were confused with difference between cashier and nutritional consultant- and it was impossible to help customers without any knowledge and only one nutritional consultant working. I did eventually learn quite a bit about products from other employees. Would not recommend if you get bored easily!

If you like dealing with a bunch of women who talk about you behind you back, and then go running to the manager when you stick up for your self, you’ll love it here. If you like having very little direction, and being constantly told to redo your work, you’ll love it here. There is no room for advancement. Its a big popularity contest. The managers have the worst attitudes and take out their frustrations on staff. There are no progress reports, they don’t communicate what they want you to improve on but will complain to others your not doing what they want. There is very little training. Your days off are never back to back. Book stuff off three months in advance or it wont be approved. The most toxic work environment I’ve ever had the displeasure to work. Run as far from this company as you can! Its not worth the headache or stress! You have been warned. 

What I learned was that this company does not value all customers equally, the owner seems to care more about money than customer service. The management is not to be trusted. The company made employees work for free and they paid staff with freezies. I had the most stressful time of my life working for this company. Do not ever work for National Nutrition. They make fun of staff with mental health problems and  they will fire you to replace you with a fresh face, if you don't end up quitting before you get fired. It's understaffed and they put you in positions that require you to give advice to people with medical problems without having staff that is legally trained to provide any sort of helpful product recommendations.
