It starts really exciting until you realize they have zero plans for training new team members (high turnover, so they don't even bother anymore). You sit on your computer and somehow magically absorb information from the others. Everything changes everyday, so whatever you learned today might be useless tomorrow. Owner is a micromanager, you're given really cool projects with the fake assumption you can actually implement any of your amazing ideas to it. Big red flag: employees are quitting or being fired every month. The senior workers are toxic submissive ladies that enjoy keeping the atmosphere this way, therefore nothing ever changes and they say "you have to match their work environment". There's a big salary gap between employees executing the same functions, and the truth is everyone is completely overwhelmed with a million random tasks given by the owner. You will not grow here, take your intelligence elsewhere.    

I worked for Nautilus in operations. The office is go go go...they type of place where you look at the clock thinking it has been 30 minutes and 5 hours has passed. The owner is incredibly smart and surrounds himself with highly intelligent individuals always taking their ideas seriously. It's not the type of job where you can hide behind other people doing your job for you!! Lack of integrity and laziness isn't their culture. If you're looking for a job doing the bare minimum this isn't the right fit for you. 
A typical day starts at 8 am, work like he** and got out on time (4:30), exactly how the owner describes it. Hard work is appreciated and rewarded. Attending the trade shows is an incredible opportunity. 
I can't say I've ever worked in an environment that wasn't ever changing and evolving. These guys are doing really cool stuff and I often miss working there and the incredible friendships made. 


Overall I felt that my role did not live up to expectations and was disappointed with the overall work environment. 

I felt that I was not empowered to share any opinions or constructive feedback, and instead was expected to follow orders, agree with the owner, and not ask questions. 

Staff turnover is extremely high and I was surprised that there was little to no reflection on why that was the case from management. 

The Good:
-Pay was reasonable for an entry level position
-Offers benefits
-Travel sometimes available 

The Not-so-good:
-Total lack of training or onboarding program leaves new employees to flounder
-Outdated and inefficient systems 
-Constant change is the norm as major decisions are not considered carefully and then taken back
-Performance reviews of other employees were made public and not kept confidential 
-Office location is inconvenient and unclean, and employees are not permitted to work remotely

A typical day at work includes being berated by the owner for not having tasks completed in an unreasonable amount of time. You must speak to the owner is short sentences as if he is a child, so that he does not become overwhelmed. Workplace culture is good if he is away. Expect to work long hours, and to jump when he says jump, and jump high. Don't expect to be trusted until you've earned it which will take a long time, and likely include blood, sweat and many tears.  Unreasonable is the best way to describe working for this man. Develop a thick skin or you won't last 5 minutes. Pay is good, but that just makes it seem worthwhile to go home crying everyday and it's not.

Really fun company to work for. Lots of fun perks, the island retreats were always so fun. Communication skills are definitely needed as you're required to communicate with guests from all over the world and closely work with the Mexico shore based team, captains and crew. Learned so much from this company and the owner. Once you have his trust he genuinely cares about each individual and would do so much for you individually. Not many office jobs turn into a family but Nautilus certainly has that atmosphere. Some of the best people I've ever met work for this dynamic company. 

If you want to learn and improve, this is the place to be. You have to be smart and fast learner to succeed. There is no glass ceiling for learning and growing. Working with the president/owner of the company closely is a big plus! He is open for questions and suggestions. He is a true leader, not just a manager who sits and waits to sign stuff for his employees. He is a good teacher is you are willing to learn and listen. 

I have been with the company for over 8 years.  And after all this time I still find this job exciting, fun and a great place to be.  The experience and flexibility is great!  New challenges and opportunities are limitless - you just have to have the initiative!!  It is a friendly and enjoyable environment.   The team is very collaborative and I feel like my opinions and ideas are valued.  You have to not be afraid of people in this role.  You have to be confident and comfortable talking to guests and care about the guest experience.  

Easy interview, really small company, very disorganized office. There is no HR, the same person working in reservations and sales is the same hiring and gossiping about you behind your back. The hiring person has no idea on how to treat people with respect. Toxic culture, a lot of gossip and daily complaints about clients, employees and owners. There is a big salary gap between employees in the same department. No one stays more than 6 months. Wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking to learn, evolve or develop your career.

This the right job if you like to learn fast and grow in every aspect of your capacities, if you are team player and hard worker. Is a company we’re the safety, happy crew and excellence on guest experience is take it very seriously, the crew is the most important to the owner specially if you are at sea, he treats his employees as family. I’ve been very much supported on this amazing company. 

If you are a real team player who wants to do well, enjoys hard work, & have a variety of tasks this is the place for you. It is a small company that is in growth phase. Which is exciting!  Collaboration and sharing ideas is key.   Role is challenging but rewarding.  To be successful here you need to have a good attitude and be smart!. Be honest and have integrity.  I feel very supported and inclusive.
