Neegan Development

Worked for Neegan for a little while. Got some experience now I’m moving on to a better paying company that doesn’t alway point the finger at the employees everyday when something goes wrong. 

Management surely thinks they know all and they are always correct. Let’s just say that’s not the case. 

It’s nothing new to tell somebody in the Community you works for Neegan and they laugh in your face and tell you to get on with a real company and avoid Neegan. Our union reps are fully aware of the daily games that played at Neegan by Supervisors/Management.

What is the best part of working at the company?
If motivated, you’ll develop skills in a professional environment and gain knowledge about various aspects of the heavy equipment services industry in the Oil Sands.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Naturally not getting everything you want when you want it.   You gotta wait your turn

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Healthy and professional environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pretty straightforward.  You know your work scope and have the equipment and tools needed for the day

I found Neegan Management and fellow Employees very friendly and easy to work for and with. I really did not want to leave Neegan at the end of the project but they did not have any positions suitable for me. They did offer me a position prior to leaving but it was not something I wanted to do so I turned down that offer. If down the road they have something more to offer I would not hesitate to work again for Neegan. I Thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

People are a replaceable fixture with Neegan.  Very tight group where only upper management or people who think they are leadership material are rewarded. All be it a token of what other company’s pay for bonuses. Minimum for their standard benefits package. Pension plan is not worth you time to fill out the form. All come with lengthy time lines to enrol in them. Safety is a laugh. Every incident is the employees fault. 
Would not recommend in the least. Go work for a reputable firm.

Nothing!  The management hasn’t got a clue what to do

Management because they know nothing about the job

The workers are awesome to work with

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyone gets there and can’t wait to go home

The people are great.
Management couldn't organize a two car parade.
They will lie to your face about having work and lay you off a week later 
I worked there for 4 years 40+ long time employees just got laid off wile the new superintendent hired all his friends.
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

very negative culture in this company with plenty of backstabbing and harassment that happens from the top down.  not one person working there seems to have a good opinion of the company or management, it' just a job with no loyalty whatsoever.

Your day starts early and always learning the basic job stay the same but every day with conditions weather and equipment breakdowns can become challenging. As a team the people there are great friends and hard workers. The most enjoyable part of the work is getting the job done.

Busy days. Lots of work to keep you busy which made your day go by fast. Met a lot of new people and made great friends. Learned new things, the importance of safety, how to make a workplace better to benefit everyone. Most of all how important it is to watch your every move. Working around big equipment all day long let you see how easily something could happen.

Very reactive approach to everything, not proactive. Lower pay. Higher work load with less support. Management cut corners at all opportunities. They listen but they do not hear. Most of the authority is held within a very small group. 
Positive safety culture and friendly co-workers. Some crews make it worth coming to work everyday.
