Absolutely no guidance or training provided or questions answered by the manager. All my training was provided by coworkers and questions answered by coworkers- which is normal to a point- but no one had been there longer than 5 or 6 months. Manager is unhinged and tries to act like and be friends with the 20 year old new hires instead of the seasoned professional in her 60's that she should be. The place has potential but head manager needs to stop acting like a mean girl from high school.

Neil Squire Society (NSS) Ottawa was a great workplace. This organization uses technology to bring employees together from all across Canada for meetings and information sharing.  Intake process is thorough, community referrals are strong to help support clients, management is supportive and thinks outside the box for solutions. A strong sense of teamwork, small staff.

Laid off without a reason. I was excited for the job and ready to work/able to work and they laid me off after I quit my last job without a decent explanation leaving me jobless and unable to pay bills. Had to move back in with my parents and have been jobless for 2 months with no income. Now I’m in debt with nothing because of them. 

Very high staff turnover, immature work culture and unstable management that gives poor to little instruction or guidance. Too much emphasis on fun and game time with coworkers by management and deemed not a team player if you want to get your work done instead. Staff meeting minutes were done entirely by memes- enough said...

Volunteering to make toys for kids in the hospital was a really meaningful experience. Knowing that something I helped create could bring comfort or a smile to a child going through a difficult time made the work feel important. The process itself was fun assembling materials to make the toys. 




Great people to work with, but as you work under performance-based outcomes, it might add a layer of stress for you, despite the fact that reaching out to employers and setting up wage subsidies isn't part of your job. If the manager doesn't like you, you can sense it and leave asap. 

Overall I enjoyed my experience and was challenged. If I had a problem I would listened to for the most part.
Had a lot freedom and trust. Rewarding job.

It is a very good place to work and enjoy helping people. i enjoyed being there for 10 years and i learned a lot.I helped a lot of people learn how to use computers and get jobs.

Good boss, good advancement opportunities, good pay, good hours, not a lot of complaints besides from head office being unorganized. But a few have been fired since I left in 2016 so maybe its better now.

I answered questions from students during class.
I  did some computer work like format the student computers after the course was over.
I help fromat the curiculum.
