The best part of this job is the people. Coworkers and customers make each shift meaningful, and it provides opportunities to develop skills like resilience, multitasking, and working under pressure. The human connections are truly the heart of the experience.

However, the pay does not always match the workload and expectations. Many employees are paid the minimum, and raises are rare. (never received one despite years or working here) It can feel frustrating when the company continues opening new locations with beautiful aesthetics, fancy countertops, and high-end design, yet the people working every day in those stores cannot receive a raise. For a company that promotes fairness and community, it is disappointing when those values do not fully reach the employees keeping the business running.

Burnout is a real concern. The pace, emotional labor, and high expectations add up quickly. Some aspects of the culture and environment can feel off. Responsibilities may fall unevenly, and the store atmosphere, including a repeated music playlist over the years, can affect morale.

Recently, there have been signs that this may not be a sustainable place to stay long-term. The community and connections are wonderful, but it may be necessary to move on

Im not one to leave reviews but having had such a great experience working for this company I felt compelled to leave a personal review.

I have had an amazing time working for this company. My time was filled with a dynamic blend of challenges and accomplishments. From collaborating with colleagues on multiple projects, pushing myself creatively on many fronts and working together with an amazing team.

 The management team at Nemesis is supportive and approachable. Their guidance and encouragement create a positive work environment, allowing employees to thrive and contribute effectively. They all make it comfortable to come them with any issues I ever had and they always made themselves available whenever I've needed them. The environment and culture they foster make it the ideal environment for people who are creative and want to push themselves to learn and grow. The management team in the  company have a diverse range of skills and I've learned an immense amount from their guidance and leadership.

Overall, my journey at Nemesis has been nothing short of exceptional. The blend of an engaging work environment, supportive management, and opportunities for growth makes it a standout place to work.

If you’re looking to be overworked, underpaid, and constantly on edge, congratulations…you’ve found the perfect place. This company operates on a steady diet of fear mongering and passive aggression, with leadership that seems more concerned with control than competence. Don’t expect breaks (those are apparently a luxury), and forget about overtime pay, your time isn’t valued here. Career progression? Only if you’re into running in circles. Pay is insultingly low, especially in today’s economy. And let’s talk about the greed—because wow, they’ve turned it into an art form. With more shops than common sense and enough revenue to comfortably pay people a living wage, they still opt for the absolute legal minimum, like it’s some sort of sport. Overtime? Not unless you consider “working for free while your manager vanishes” a bonus perk. It’s genuinely impressive pretending they can’t afford basic human decency. The entire operation is a chaotic mess: unorganised, riddled with miscommunication, and guided by people who couldn’t lead a group out of a paper bag. If you’re eager to watch your motivation and self-worth shrivel in record time, this place will deliver exactly that.

I was excited to join the company and initially looked forward to growing within the organisation. However, over time I felt the workplace environment decline due to ongoing staffing shortages and management challenges.

The workload was often demanding relative to the compensation, with responsibilities regularly expanding beyond the scope of the role. There was also a significant amount of micromanagement from leadership, which made it difficult to work independently and efficiently.

Communication between management teams was often inconsistent, leading to confusion regarding priorities, expectations, and daily operations. Concerns and suggestions from staff did not always feel acknowledged, making it difficult to contribute ideas for improvement.

There also appeared to be a disconnect between Front of House and Back of House operations. Back of House staff were frequently expected to take on additional responsibilities outside their primary duties, which added strain to an already demanding workload.


A work environment that encourages you to challenge yourself, bring a deep respect to your work, your team and the community you serve.

I had never been treated with as much respect and care as I did at Nemesis. It’s the only environment where I felt valued, where I could constructively contribute and where I can actually take pride in what I do.

If you’re willing to work hard, care more about what you do and contribute whenever you can, I assure you this team will look after you as much as it can. They’re good people, the best, and they’re growing.

Wish I could have been there longer. 

Based on my experience, I would not recommend working at this company. The people here are toxic, they lie and are very shady in their dealings. There is no job security here, and it can be very stressful working in such an environment. The company culture is very unprofessional, and it can be hard to feel respected or valued as an employee.
In my opinion, if you are looking for a company with a positive work culture and job security, this is not the place for you. I would advise you to look elsewhere for employment opportunities.

This was one of my favorite places to work at but everything went downhill after a few months. Employees started quitting because they were not being heard and not getting payed enough. I learned a lot of things here but mostly basic things. You won't get any benefits unless you're in a salary position and even then, I don't think you get much. you don't get overtime pay and there's a lot of miscommunication between the employees and management. The staff is amazing though and you'll make amazing friends. It's just the management. It's always the management.

My time at Nemesis was marked by a consistently toxic work environment. The leadership's lack of transparency and communication created an atmosphere of uncertainty and anxiety among employees. Additionally, the rampant favoritism and lack of accountability for inappropriate behavior contributed to a culture of mistrust. The overbearing workload and unrealistic expectations only intensified the stressful atmosphere, making it a place I would strongly advise others to avoid.

Nemesis makes you want to cry. I have seen multiple coworkers clearly upset and uncomfortable at the workplace. There is a sense of run by fear rather than run by trust. The only good thing about this workplace is the coworkers you meet. Everyone is pretty nice but the bosses make you question if its even possible to be a human being. They talk down on you for the smallest mistakes, they make you feel incompetent. Watch out for the lowkey misogynistic tendency of the owner

I was really excited to work here, but after a month or so I started to see so many red flags that were impossible to ignore. Really poor management and communication, weird pretentious vibe and gatekeeping of being on bar, and scheduling was never consistent / didn't respect employee wants or needs. I think the owners are awesome people but somewhere in the middle management needs an improvement. I appreciate the training we got, and think the people here mean well but maybe need some sort of HR.
