A typical day in this role involves in-store merchandising, frequent communication via emails, texts, and phone calls, and adapting to evolving expectations. I developed the important skill of asking the right questions to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities.

That said, the management style tends to be overbearing, with significant micromanagement that can hinder autonomy and efficiency. A key concern is the lack of boundaries around work hours. It's common to receive work-related messages on personal devices during off-hours, and there is an unspoken expectation to be constantly available.

One of the more challenging aspects of the role was the inconsistency in receiving the agreed-upon hours, which made scheduling and financial planning difficult.

Overall, while the position offered some professional freedom, it lacked work-life balance and clarity around workload expectations.

Flexible weekly/hourly part time position. Management directions can be very confusing. Middle management managed by fear. Pay scale in Canada very low, along with personal vehicle mileage compensation. Limited support and no understanding on T2200  to compensate when it comes down to home office purpose and storage of material and devices to meet job objectives. 

You can make your hours which is great for the most part, pay is wayyy too low for the amount of physical work and storage use at your home you must accommodate when other merchandisers don't have to take work home with them and they make 2-3 more dollars an hour. Milage is really bad, use to be good but they changed it. Only thing I can say is you can set up your own schedule, but higher ups will breathe down your neck if your not done your stores 3 days before the deadline.

You commute to various stores, depending on the area you’re in and how many stores are in the area. 

You have a hand held device to track your tasks, your commute and communicate with your area manager. 

You receive the materials needed via mail shipment or from the warehouse depending on your location. 

They greatly reduced the mileage & drive time compensation. You basically work for nothing. NRS is clawing back compensation  at a time when most other employers are offering increased pay incentives etc to hire and maintain there present staffing. The turn over in staffing is very high for this reason and this why I recommend not taking a job with this organization unless you are real desperate. 

With a week's time to do one or two days worth of work on your own schedule, the flexibility of this job has been invaluable to me as a parent.
You will need a good amount of space - a spare room or the back of the garage, for example - for hardware and materials; organization is key.


The quality of this job depends on your expectations.  This is a great little part-time job with flexibility but has demanding standards for minimum wage.

Easy work, set your own schedule.  Had  a great manager.  If you looking for something with little hours and something to do, this will work.  Visiting various retail stores.

The company is so flexible. The pay could be better, I believe they are working on that now. You are given a week to complete each task. Management is fantastic. 

Difficult to grow in the organization. The US counterparts are more favoured within the entire organization than the Canadian teams. The people working there were great but the job itself was not ideal.
